You've probably heard stories from very ordinary people who make money through YouTube and thought "Hey, I want that too!". While it probably isn't realistic to think that you will make thousands of dollars right away, you can start making some money pretty quickly, especially if you have a lot of steady followers. Follow the steps below to make sure your channel is going to pay off and start making money from all that advertising on YouTube too!

1. Your channel is your personal presence on YouTube. One channel is associated with each YouTube account. An account in YouTube is the same as an account in Google and by creating a YouTube account you automatically gain access to other Google products, such as the email service Gmail and storage space within Drive.

3. Attract as much audience as possible. Get more followers. In order to make your channel profitable you will have to get an audience. To make money through the ads, you have to make sure people see them. There is no one specific way to get more people to sign up to your channel. Just try to upload the best possible videos and the followers will automatically get to you.
   • There may be occasional haters among your viewers, but you should just ignore them. If you want to be successful, you have to be confident.
   • Keep uploading new videos and keep your audience glued to your channel. Draw attention to your video by posting it to Twitter and Facebook. Share it with people. Distribute your video on the internet as much as possible. Regular followers are essential to becoming a YouTube partner.
   • Interact with your viewers by replying to their comments and by occasionally creating videos that deal directly with your audience's comments and questions. By building a bond with your followers, more members will naturally want to join the group. One of the best ways to do that is quite simple, which is to use so-called shout-outs.
4. Monetize your videos. Before your videos can make money, you will need to activate that feature. This means that you must give YouTube permission to add ads to your videos. It also means that you guarantee that you will not use any material that is protected by copyright in your videos.
   • Go to www.youtube.com and click on "My Channel" on the website.
   • Click on the link "Video-Manager" on the top bar.
   • Within Monetization, click on Channel and Activate.

   Make sure you meet the requirements. To earn money, you must have had at least 4,000 viewing hours in the past 12 months and at least 1,000 people must have registered with your channel.

   • You can monetize your video immediately when you put it on YouTube by clicking the Monetization tab and checking the "Monetize with Ads" box.
   • To monetize a video after uploading, open your channel's Video Manager and click the "$" next to the video you want to monetize. Then tick the box "Monetization with advertisements".
5. Use Google AdSense. You can create an Adsense account for free at Google.com/adsense. To get started, click the "Register" button. You must be 18 years or older to create your own account. If you are under 18, you will need to ask an adult to assist you.
   • In addition to general information about yourself, you must provide a PayPal or bank account and a valid mailing address so that AdSense can identify who you are and who they are sending the money to. 6. View your statistics. Once you've put a few videos on YouTube, added ads to them so they make money, and they've been viewed a number of times, you can see how well they are doing through the corresponding statistics. Click on the Analytics option in the menu of your Channel. In addition to other information, you can view the expected earnings, the number of times your videos have been viewed, how well the advertisements are doing and certain demographic data.

7. Post your videos on other websites. Don't just put your videos on YouTube! Start a blog, create a website or post your videos on other video websites or social media. 8. Become a YouTube partner. YouTube partners are members of YouTube who monetize their videos and have a large number of viewers.
