Do you want to make a beautiful and unique ring? Here's how to do it.

To step

1. Gather the materials. To make a ring of wire and a bead, you need silver wire or wire that does not tarnish (you don't want your finger to turn green). Buy a roll of wire of 1.3 to 1.6 mm, and make sure it is half hard. For this ring, start with about 12 inches of thread. If you want you can practice with cheaper wire such as copper or nickel. You will also need a bead with a hole in the center, wire cutters and needle nose pliers.
2. Size the ring. Wrap the center of the wire around your shape (a tube for example) and wrap it twice, but leave the ends long.
3. Bend the ends so that they taper off the shape at a 90 degree angle.
4. Place the bead on both wires and slide it towards the bottom of the ring.
5. Bend the councils at a right angle right on top of the bead.
6. Make a spiral of wire on top of the bead. Start by making a small circle of one of the threads, and push the other thread under and up against it, but be careful not to cross the threads. When you see the spiral rise up, take a block of wood and gently but firmly press the spiral to hold it against the bead as you twist the strands. Keep wrapping in a spiral until the desired size is reached. Make sure to leave at least 5 cm on each thread to finish. Remove the ring from the mold.
7. Take both ends and move them away from the bead. Wrap each end around the ring to secure the bead, being careful not to cross them, until you are happy with the result. (Here you may need the narrow needle nose pliers). Trim the ends and tuck the ends down. If they are sharp you have to smooth it with an iron file.
8. Ready.

Tips

• These are very beautiful gifts.
• Buy different colored beads and make sure they have a large hole in the center.

Warnings

• Make sure to tuck the sharp ends into one of the knots on either side so you don't get hurt.

Necessities

• 30 cm silver wire from 1.3 to 1.6 mm, semi-hard. You can find this at craft stores.
• 1 bead with a large hole, through which two pieces of wire fit.
• Wire cutters
• Needle nose pliers
• Shape to style your ring. You can sometimes find this at jewelry wholesalers, or you can buy a tube at a hardware store. It should be the same thickness and shape as your finger.
