Making a paper chain is an easy, clean craft project that all kids and parents love to do.Follow these steps to learn how to make the classic paper necklace, and check out the Tips for some ideas on how to turn the necklace into a holiday decoration.
To step
Use a ruler and scissors to measure and cut strips of paper that are the same length and width. The size may differ, but we recommend making strips of 2.5 cm by 20 cm. Cut as many as you need, depending on how long you want your necklace to be. 
Tape, or staple the ends of the first strip together to form a loop. If you are using glue, hold the ends together until the glue dries. 
Put the second stick of paper through the loop. Stick the ends of this strip back together. 
Continue in this way until you reach the desired length.
Hang your paper chain on the wall or ceiling and enjoy!
Tips
- Paper necklaces are great decorations for birthday parties. Use them with streamers and balloons to make a special party!
- For Christmas decorations, you can use patterned paper or glitter. Put your chain in the tree, or make a very white chain to make it look like snow!
- Use many different colors!
Warnings
- Make sure your chain cannot catch fire; do not hang it on a lamp, near a candle or a fireplace.
- Be careful with scissors or a stapler, especially if you work with small children.
