Have you always wanted to have an endless supply of cobblestone in Minecraft? Ever made the frustrating discovery that you were just one cobblestone short when making a home? In that case, read on quickly, because this article will explain in detail how to make an infinite cobblestone generator, with or without pushers. Lots of fun!

To step

Method 1 of 3: A simple cobblestone generator

  1. Dig a hole 2 blocks long and 1 block wide.
  2. Dig a second hole one block away from the first hole, 1 block long and 1 block wide.
  3. Dig another block in the first hole, in the space next to the second hole.
  4. Put water in the top level of the first hole. The water should now flow down into the opening of the hole.
  5. Create a mining area between the two holes. Immediately below the hole you want to use as a mine, dig a hole 2 blocks long and 1 block wide. Stand in the mining area.
  6. Put lava in the second hole.
  7. Work the block between the water and the lava with the pickaxe and wait for cobbles to form. A new block of cobblestone should now emerge as soon as you are done mining.

Method 2 of 3: A more comprehensive cobblestone generator

  1. Make two pillars, 4 blocks high and one block apart.
  2. Place a square around the top of the pillars.
  3. Dig a hole 2 blocks wide. Make the hole on the left side of the pillar.
  4. Place a water source to the far left of the hole.
  5. Dig three holes in the center between the pillars.
  6. Place a source of lava in the center of the square you made on top of the pillars.
  7. Destroy the block in the middle of the water and the lava will start flowing. You can start mining cobblestone.

Method 3 of 3: A cobblestone generator with a pusher

  1. Dig a hole two blocks down and two blocks wide. Place a sticky piston with glass on top in the hole.
  2. Create containers for the lava and water. Don't post them yet, because you don't want to start over. The lava comes on the side closest to the pusher, glass and water on the other side. The hole allows the water to flow to the lava, creating boulders here.
  3. Now we are going to create a redstone machine to detect if a block of cobblestone has been formed. Add a redstone torch and a repeater on one side, and sprinkle some redstone dust on the ground on the other side. Do not place cobblestones.
  4. Now we are going to put the pusher to work. At the location of the redstone wire, dig one block towards the water and dig another block away from the pushers and one block towards the lava.
  5. Now place the water first, then the lava. The generator will work, but will only push the blocks up.
  6. Add another pusher to push the blocks to the side to make them easier to use for resource extraction, or add another machine to build a self-repairing wall!
  7. Now add another repeater to the block on the lava container, which is right next to the first redstone wire we put down. The repeater must be set on the first tap. Then add two blocks as shown in the picture, fasten them and put the pushers to work there.
  8. Now we add a detector that can indicate when the pusher operating sideways can no longer move blocks. From the block with the redstone torch, place 9 redstones on the ground, away from the lava. Then place a block and place redstone on top. Place another redstone torch on the ground next to the block under which the cobblestone was pushed. This blows out the first redstone torch and stops the generator. You also do not have to reset it. If none of the pushers can move the new cobblestone, it will stay put and the circuit will continue until you destroy the block next to the lava. This ensures that the formation of cobblestones continues.
  9. Finally add an on / off switch. Go to the block with the first redstone torch and place a switch at the back to turn the generator on and off.
  10. The generator is ready. You can also use this to build self-repairing bridges or walls.

Tips

  • You should do this around the spawn point, unless you are using a hack that will limit your health or if you are using a healthy diamond armor.
  • Please note that cobblestone is created as soon as you replace the block.

Warnings

  • Be careful around lava.
  • You have to react quickly when you place a block near lava

Necessities

  • Some building material. Cobblestone is the best
  • A water source
  • A lava source
  • A shovel (possibly)
  • A pickaxe
  • Redstone dust, torches and repeaters (additional supplies if you use pushers (pistons)
  • Pushers, sticky pistons and glass (additional supplies if you use pushers (pistons)
