This is an easy recipe for the perfectly roasted chicken. Amaze friends and family. And otherwise you can easily eat it for several days.

Ingredients

  • A chicken of about 1.5 kg (preferably an organic chicken)
  • A lemon
  • Sea salt (1 or 2 teaspoons)
  • Freshly ground pepper (a few teaspoons)
  • Oil (for greasing the roasting pan)
  • Optional: fresh herbs of your choice - rosemary, thyme or tarragon

  1. After another 35-40 minutes (about an hour per kilo in total), remove the chicken from the oven and let it cool for 20 minutes. Cut the chicken and serve with gravy from the roasting tray.

Tips

  • Let the chicken rest for about 20 minutes after removing it from the oven. This way the juice is evenly distributed over the chicken.
  • You can vary by adding fresh herbs to the inside of the chicken before it goes into the oven.
  • You can also do this well with a Weber barbecue, with the indirect grill method. You then immediately roast the chicken on the rack with a drip tray under the chicken.
