Method 1 of 3: Find your remote

1. Find the model number of the device (may be on the back of the device). Remove the battery cover on the back and find the model number: for example RCR412S.
2. Go to RCA Remote Code Finder. Click the Model pop-up menu, and select your model from the list.
3. You can also press the button at the top left. Enter your model number here and click on the magnifying glass. Once found, you can view the manual or the entire code list - both as PDF.
4. Pay attention: in case you cannot find the model number on the RCA website, go to this website. Find your remote, click on it and look at the bottom of the page where it says "Originally supplied with modelsThese are model numbers for VCRs that your remote also works with, or was supplied with.

Method 2 of 3: Programming your remote

1. Press and hold the TV button on the remote control. The LED will light up and stay on. Continue to hold the TV button.
2. Enter the code. Hold down the TV button and enter the code for your TV or video player with your remote control. The LED turns off when you enter the numbers, and turns on again when you're done.
3. Release the TV button. The LED will light up briefly and go out when the number is entered correctly, or will blink 4 times if an error is detected.
4. Change the channel to see if it was successful.
   • Note: Not all functions will be supported on all models, but the standard functions such as switching channels on the TV and the playback controls of a VCR should work without any problems.

Method 3 of 3: Code search

1. Switch on the device you want to program.
2. Activate Code search. Simultaneously press and hold the power button and the device button until the LED lights stay on.
3. Press on the Playbutton every 5 seconds until the unit turns off. A group of 10 codes is sent each time.
4. Press on the Rewindbutton to see if it turns off / on again. Wait 2 seconds and press again until the device turns on again. You may have to do this 10 times while he searches through the list of codes being sent.
5. Press and hold the stop button until the light goes out. This will save the code.
