While the original Apple Magic Mouse uses replaceable batteries, the Apple Magic Mouse 2 has a non-replaceable built-in battery that you need to charge. This wikiHow teaches you how to charge a Magic Mouse 2.

To step

1. Turn the Magic Mouse 2 over. Since you cannot replace the battery, you can charge the battery using a so-called lightning cable and a power source.
   • For the fastest charging performance, make sure the mouse is turned on.
2. Find the lightning port. At the bottom of the mouse you will see a rectangular opening, below some icons and text.
   • A lightning cable should be included to charge the mouse. If you don't have that cable, you can also use another lightning cable.
3. Plug the lightning cable into an adapter and power source. Plug the correct plug of the lightning connector into the wall outlet. The AC adapter looks like a white cube with a plug on one end that fits into an electrical outlet.
   • If you want to charge the mouse via your computer, plug the USB end of the cable into one of the USB ports on your computer. However, you cannot use the mouse while it is charging.
4. Connect the lightning cable to the Magic Mouse 2. The plug on the lightning cable should fit any way.
