This wikiHow teaches you how to view a list of the apps currently running on an Android device. To do this, you must first enter the developer mode switch.
To step
- Open the Settings of your Android device Scroll down and tap About phone. This is at the very bottom of the Settings page.
- On a tablet, tap instead About this device.
- Scroll down to the heading "Build number". This option is at the bottom of the "About This Device" page.
- Tap the "Build number" heading seven times. Once you see a message saying "You are now a developer!" You were able to unlock the developer options.
- You may have to tap more than seven times to see the confirmation.
- Tap the "Back" button Tap on Developer options. This is at the bottom of the Settings page
- Tap on Running services. These options are at the top of the page. This will open a list of currently running apps and services. This could also be called "Process stats"
- Tap the currently running app or service to get more information about it, such as memory usage and how long the app has been running. You can also force a stop for an app from this menu.
Warnings
- Developer options allow you to view and edit aspects of your Android operating system that are normally reserved for advanced users. Be careful when using the developer mode.
