For some of us, having a pleasant smell is so obvious that it becomes unclear why we need to write a manual for this. All of us have ever experienced an awkward feeling when standing next to someone who smelled not very good (which was even nauseous). Although the sense of smell is quite subjective, our instructions will help you get rid of odors that are considered unpleasant.

Steps

  1. 1 Shower / bathe regularly. This way, you will get rid of your own smell that comes from the whole body, therefore, it is very important to do this procedure daily. If you are uncomfortable with the timing of your shower every day, try seeing your doctor for other ways to get rid of the odor. Thoroughly wash the “problem” parts of your body, namely armpits and genitals.
  2. 2 Use deodorant. Find a deodorant that smells good. If you sweat a lot, try using an antiperspirant.
  3. 3 To do this, you need to be older. People don't sweat a lot during adolescence, so the antiperspirant step won't be necessary if you're still a child.
  4. 4 Use cologne or perfume, but don't overdo it. Apply them to your neck, wrists, and the back of your knees. If you are a man, you can also apply cologne to your face, but not immediately after shaving, otherwise the skin will become irritated.
  5. 5 Be confident in yourself. You don't have to constantly check to see if your armpits smell ok - just feel free and be yourself.
  6. 6 Brush your teeth and tongue. Most of the bacteria that cause halitosis live on the tongue. Take your toothbrush and start brushing your tongue from the back (most importantly, don't hurt yourself) towards the tip. You can also buy a special tongue brush that is designed to remove bacteria from its surface. Bad breath can scare others away, so we recommend that you brush your teeth twice a day - the first time in the morning, right after breakfast, and the second time in the evening - before bed, as well as use peppermint gum after meals.
  7. 7 Avoid wearing clothes that are too warm to sweat. Instead, wear a few lightweight items so you can safely remove one when needed.
  8. 8 Just remember to shower or bathe every day, use deodorant and you will smell great.

Tips

  • Apply deodorant or body lotion immediately after showering. So, you moisturize your skin right after you dry it with soap, so as not to sweat soon. Dry your skin thoroughly before applying deodorant to it, and also shave your underarms (this also applies to men).
  • If you are wearing a shirt, apply some cologne to the collar, but do not forget that it may stain.
  • Buy a hand or body lotion that smells like your perfume. So, you can be sure that the smell will not fade and you will have to reapply it. Also, if you apply lotion and cologne / perfume on top, the smell will stay on the skin longer.
  • Check your hand scent after eating a strong scent, because the scent may remain on your skin. This is not very pleasant! You may need to wash your hands thoroughly to get rid of this smell.
  • Take a shower daily. However, try not to wash your hair every day - this will flush natural oils from your hair.
  • Apply very little cologne; don't use too much.
  • If you apply a little petroleum jelly to the area where you want to apply the perfume, the scent will last longer.
  • Wear perfume / cologne on your shoulders if you are often hugged. Then people will smell better.
  • If you wear sneakers, spray them with deodorant and change your socks more often. You can also add baking soda to it to kill odor-causing bacteria.
  • Vanilla and cinnamon are scents that many men love, so if you are going out on a date, these scents can heighten your romantic mood.
  • Use antiperspirants less often because they close your pores and sebaceous glands.
  • Apply perfume to your hands.

Warnings

  • Failure to follow basic hygiene practices can lead to health and relationship problems. Take care of your body and then the body will take care of you.
  • If you are a woman, you are highly discouraged from using special female genital oils. They shift the natural balance of your genitals and may increase your risk of infection. Your organs can cleanse themselves by producing protective substances. Do not use talcum powder, strong soaps, sprays or deodorants on the groin area. It will be correct to wash the areas around the genitals with a gentle soap, but the groin area is best washed with plain lukewarm water. If you suspect you have some kind of infection in your genital area, see your doctor.
  • Be careful with antiperspirants because they can cause allergic reactions. Some with zirconium content can provide "Incredible Protection", causing allergies, while others, based on aluminum, may not. Therefore, try different types of them if one does not suit you. Also, don't rely on the antiperspirant to add a strong scent to your skin, as other scents will likely overpower it, and at best the skin will smell like soap. Also, antiperspirants can stain clothes.
  • Don't wear too much perfume, or cologne if you do. Over time, you will get used to the pleasant scent, so what you think is a light scent, others will feel as a strong scent. Do not forget that there are people who are allergic to strong odors, and many, in principle, may not like the strong aroma emanating from you, especially in crowded places. There are basic rules for applying - about three times applying perfume, and about five times applying eau de toilette.
  • Some medical research suggests that antiperspirants may increase the chances of cancer. Although not proven, do your best to rinse off any residues in the shower.
  • If you sweat a lot, avoid aluminum-containing antiperspirants. Some studies have shown that the aluminum they contain can cause lung cancer, or Alzheimer's. They can also cause fatigue and muscle weakness. There are effective deodorants made from natural ingredients.
