Columnea is a plant whose flowers are somewhat reminiscent of a goldfish, as they have a very bright color and a tubular shape. This plant should be kept indoors. It blooms almost all year round. We will tell you how to care for him.
Steps
1 If you don't already have this plant, buy it from a flower shop. You can buy a mature plant or a shoot. If you are going to grow Columnaea from shoots, you will need 3-4 pieces that need to be planted in one pot. They will take root in 4 weeks.
2 Place the plant in a bright spot. Never expose the plant to direct sunlight to prevent it from drying out.
3 Plants need to be watered. Use a water spray bottle to spray the plants daily.
4 Don't water the plant with too much water. The roots should not be too wet.
5 Use a fertilizer that contains a lot of phosphate to water the plant. The fertilizer must be diluted with 4 parts of water.
6 Prune the bottom third of the roots with a knife every other year. With the same frequency, you need to transplant the plant into new soil.
Tips
- If you see leaves falling off the plant, give it less water for a month. Then restore normal watering and fertilization.
- The plant can stand outside if the weather is warm enough.
Warnings
- Do not place plants in a draft
