It happens that the conversation on Facebook is over and it's time to delete it. Despite the fact that at present, you can only delete a conversation from a computer, you can send it to the archive from a mobile phone so that it does not remain in front of your eyes until you delete it. Our article will explain to you how this is done.
Steps
1 Go to Messages. In the upper left corner of any page, click "Menu".
2 Click the Messages button. In the list on the left, find the "Messages" button, click it. It will open the history of your correspondence.
3 Find the conversation you would like to delete. Scroll through the list until you find it. Tap and hold on a message until a drop-down menu prompts you to archive the conversation, mark as unread, or cancel. Click Archive Thread.
- The message will disappear from your list.
4 Delete message. From a desktop computer, access the archived messages by clicking on the Messages button located on the left side of the page and select Archived from the More menu.
5 Select the correspondence you want. From the list on the left, select the conversation from which you want to delete the archived message. From the Actions menu, choose Delete Message. A checkbox will appear next to each message.
6 Check the messages you would like to be deleted. Mark the checkbox to select one or more messages in the conversation, then click Delete at the bottom of the page.
- Note that to delete the entire conversation, you must select "Delete Conversation" from the "Action" menu, not "Delete Messages".
- You will be asked to confirm the deletion. If you are sure of your intention, click on "Delete Message".
7 Unzip the conversation. If you want to see the conversation on your mobile phone after deleting a message, hover over it and click on the small “Unarchive” arrow on the right. Your correspondence will return to your inbox.
Tips
- Archiving allows you to view the correspondence later.
Warnings
- Once a message or conversation has been deleted, it cannot be restored.
- Deleting a message or conversation from your inbox does not remove it from anyone's inbox.
