If you recently started using WhatsApp, it will be useful for you to learn how to delete the contact of the person with whom you do not want to talk. Don't worry, blocking contact doesn't make you an antisocial person. You just want to avoid the person you don't want to communicate with.

There are two approaches to delete a contact on WhatsApp. The first is to remove the contact's number from your phone contact list, and the second is to block the contact on WhatsApp.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Deleting a Contact Number

1. 1 Go to your contact list and find the one you want to delete. Delete it.
2. 2 Launch WhatsApp and open the contact page.
3. 3 Select "Update". The contact will disappear from your contact list.
   • It is worth noting that this method has one drawback - you will lose the contact number, which is not very convenient.
   • If you want to keep the contact's number but delete the contact itself from WhatsApp, go to the second method.

Method 2 of 2: Block a contact's number

1. 1 Launch WhatsApp and open the contact page.
2. 2 Select the contact you want to delete.
3. 3 In the contact menu, select the item with the words "More".
   • You will see various options, including "Block". When WhatsApp asks you to confirm your decision to block the contact, do so.
   • A blocked contact will no longer be able to view your profile picture, send you messages, or see the last time you were on WhatsApp.
   • The advantage of this method is that you can remove a contact from WhatsApp without removing the phone number from your contact list.
