In this article, we will show you how to save photos from Facebook to your PC, smartphone or tablet. To do this, you need a Facebook account. Keep in mind that you will not be able to save the cover photo of other users.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On a PC

  1. 1 Open Facebook. Follow the link in your browser. If you are already logged into your Facebook account, the News Feed will open.
    • If you are not yet logged in to Facebook, please enter your email address (or phone number) and password in the upper right corner of the page.
  2. 2 Open the image you want to save. Scroll through the News Feed and find the photo you want to save, or go to the page of the person who posted the desired image.
    • You cannot save other people's cover photos to Facebook.
    • To go to a person's page, just enter his name in the search bar at the top of the Facebook page and select the desired profile in the list of search results.
  3. 3 Click on the image. After that, the picture will open in full screen mode.
  4. 4 Choose a picture. Just hover over the image. Various options will appear around the perimeter of the picture.
    • The mouse cursor must be on the image to perform the following actions.
  5. 5 Click on Parameters. Hover your mouse over the image and find this item in the lower right corner of the image. Click on the photo to activate the pop-up menu.
  6. 6 Click on Download. This list item is located above the middle of the pop-up menu. It allows you to save the image to your computer.
    • In some browsers, you will first need to select a download folder and then click OK.
    • By default, photos will be saved to the folder Downloads.

Method 2 of 2: On mobile devices

  1. 1 Open Facebook. Click the Facebook app shortcut, which looks like a white "f" on a dark blue background. If you are already signed in to your Facebook account, the News Feed will open.
    • If you are not yet logged in to Facebook, please enter your email address (or phone number) and password.
  2. 2 Open the image you want to save. Scroll through the News Feed and find the photo you want to save, or go to the page of the person who posted the desired image.
    • You cannot save other people's cover photos to Facebook.
    • To go to a person's page, just enter their name in the search bar at the top of the Facebook page and select the desired profile in the list of search results.
  3. 3 Click on the photo. After that, the image will open.
  4. 4 Use a long press. After one or two seconds, a pop-up menu will appear.
  5. 5 Click on Save photo. It's at the top of the pop-up menu. It allows you to save the image to the memory of your smartphone or tablet.

Tips

  • Element Parameters for the images you added contains more items than the same item in the images of other users.
  • If you want to save the photo to your computer, you can also right-click the photo and select Save picture as ... (or a similar item) in the context menu, then specify the desired folder and click OK.
  • Team Ctrl+S on a PC (or ⌘ Command+S for Mac) will prompt you to save the entire web page, not the selected image.

Warnings

  • The images that are posted on Facebook belong to the people who posted them. No need to re-publish someone else's pictures on other pages without the permission of the owner and a link to the author.
