Steps

Method 1 of 3: Folding the towels into three folds

1. 1 Take a towel around the corners. Make sure that the rectangular towel is vertical. It is best to do this while standing.
2. 2 Fold one corner of the towel towards the other one third the length of the short side. On the short side of the towel, wrap one corner towards the other about a third of that side's length. Form an appropriate fold along the entire length of the towel.
3. 3 Wrap the second corner in the same way. Take the second corner and lay it over the first fold. This will create another lobe fold on the towel. The towel will now appear as a long vertical strip in three folds.
4. 4 Fold the towel in half. Hold the end of the towel with your chin and intercept it in the middle. Release the top end of the towel - it folds in half.
5. 5 Fold the towel in half again. Again, hold the towel with your chin in place of the lateral fold and intercept it in the middle of the remaining length. Release the fold and the towel will fold in half again.

Method 2 of 3: Folding the towels into opposite folds

1. 1 Spread out a towel. Spread the towel on a flat surface such as a table. Place the rectangle of the towel horizontally in relation to you (stand on the long side of it).
2. 2 Fold the long side of the towel towards the middle. Grasp the corners of the length of the side of the towel and pull them towards the middle of the length of the short sides. A longitudinal fold appears on the towel.
3. 3 Fold the other long side of the towel in a counter-fold in the same way. Grasp the corners of the opposite side of the towel and pull it toward the middle as well. The top and bottom sides of the towel will now meet in the center.This will give you two longitudinal counter folds.
4. 4 Fold the towel in half lengthwise. The previous two steps gave you two longitudinal counter folds. Next, you need to fold the towel in half lengthwise - you get four layers of canvas. The towel is now a long, narrow strip.
5. 5 Fold the ends of the towel towards the center. Leave a small distance in the middle between the ends so that excess material does not bulge out when you roll the towel further.
6. 6 Fold the towel in half again. Hold the middle of the towel with one hand and fold the towel in half with the other hand. Rotate the towel so that it rests on the shelf with the last fold outward.

Method 3 of 3: Folding Towels for Narrow Shelves

1. 1 Fold the towel in half lengthwise. Grasp the corners of the short side of the towel and line them up. This will create a longitudinal fold on the towel. This will also align the long sides of the towel. This operation can be performed both on the table and while standing with a towel in hand.
2. 2 Fold the towel across in half. The next fold must be made in the other direction. If you are working while standing, hold one end of the towel with your chin and grab the middle of the towel with your hand. Then release the end of the towel - it will hang, forming a cross fold in the middle.
3. 3 Divide the remaining towel material into thirds mentally. Pull the open-cut edge of the towel toward the farthest third. You will have a new fold.
4. 4 Wrap the last third of the towel. Fold the folded edge over the previously folded third to fold the towel into three folds. Place the towel on the shelf with the last fold outward.

Warnings

• Make sure the towels are completely dry before folding. Even a slightly damp rolled towel can become moldy.
