Iron golems are large strong mobs that protect the villagers. They can spawn in a village, but most villages are too small for that to happen. But an iron golem can be created in any modern version of Minecraft, including Pocket Edition.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: How to Create a Golem

1. 1 Craft four iron blocks. To make one iron block, add nine iron ingots to the workbench. To make one iron golem, you need four blocks of iron (or 36 iron ingots).

2. 2 Find a pumpkin. Pumpkins grow on the ground with grass in the open air (but not in tall grass or in snow). The easiest way to find a pumpkin is on the plain. To make one iron golem, you need one pumpkin (or Jack's lamp).
   • You only need one pumpkin to create a pumpkin farm and grow as many pumpkins as you want. First, craft four pumpkin seeds on the pumpkin workbench; now plant them in beds near the water (leave one unseeded bed next to each one that is planted). Pumpkins will grow in unseeded beds.
3. 3 Find an open area. Its dimensions should be at least three blocks wide and three blocks high, but it is better if the site is more spacious - if you create a golem too close to the wall, there is a possibility that it will appear inside the wall and suffocate there.
   • Remove tall grass or flowers on site. Sometimes they prevent the golem from spawning.
4. 4 Place four iron blocks in a "T" shape. Place one iron block on the ground; now place a row of three iron blocks on it to make the letter "T". This will be the body of an iron golem.
5. 5 Place a pumpkin or Jack lamp at the top of the "T". That is, place the pumpkin / lamp on the central block so that the whole composition resembles a cross. An iron golem will appear.
   • Place the pumpkin last; otherwise, the iron golem will not appear.

Part 2 of 2: How to Use Iron Golems

1. 1 Let the iron golem defend the village. If the iron golem finds a village, it will roam and patrol its buildings. This protection is not as reliable as a good wall and torches, but you can see how the golem gives flowers to the villagers.
   • Unlike iron golems that spawn on their own, a golem you create will never attack you, even if you harm it or a villager.
2. 2 Build a fence around the golem. Do this if you want the golem to stay in place instead of roaming around and protecting the villagers. The iron golem will also stay in place if you surround your home with vines.
3. 3 Leash the golem. With the help of a leash, the golem can be driven or tied to a fence (in this case, it will defend itself worse). You can craft a leash from four threads and one slime.

Tips

• Before creating a golem, build a fence.

Warnings

• If you create a golem against a wall, it can spawn inside the wall, choke and die.
• Put the last block yourself - do not use the pistons; otherwise, the golem will not appear.
• You cannot create a golem on the workbench.
• While player-created golems shouldn't attack you, some mobile Minecraft users claim that the golem attacked them in response.
