1 Take a sheet of letter paper (or A4 size). You can also use a dedicated origami paper (15 x 15 cm). The thinner the paper, the better, as thick paper is more difficult to fold.
  • Try not to use small sheets of paper until you learn how to do everything correctly, as it will be difficult and inconvenient for you to fold such sheets. If you want a larger heart, use a larger piece of paper.
  • If you decide to draw something on paper, divide the drawing in half; it will end up in the middle of the heart. You can also decorate the heart at the end of the work.
  • 2 Turn the sheet of paper over with the white side up. Then fold the top right corner downward so that it touches the left side of the paper. Unfold the sheet and do the same with the opposite side; do not unfold.
    • If you are using A4 paper instead of origami paper (one side of which is white), you do not need to turn it over.
  • 3 Fold the bottom of the paper in half. Do this so that the white (or inner) part of the paper is not visible.
    • Make sharp bends by running your fingernail along each bend. Neat and sharp folds will give the best look to the final product.
  • 4 Unfold the top of the paper. The paper should now have two diagonal folds.
  • 5 Make a horizontal bend. Fold the top of the paper horizontally downward so that the fold is in the middle of the paper. Then expand it.
  • 6 Turn the paper over again. Take the left and right edges of the paper (along the horizontal fold) and fold them towards the center of the sheet. As you fold, the other two folds should fold as well. Fold both edges inward until they touch.
    • The pyramid shape may not work the first time, especially if you have not had to do origami before. You should end up with something like a triangle on top of the rectangular piece at the bottom.
  • Method 2 of 3: Create a diamond shape

    1. 1 Bend the lower left corner of the upper triangle so that it touches the upper sharp corner. Fold only the top layer, not both. Make the same bend on the other side; you should now have a diamond shape.
    2. 2 Fold both edges until they touch the diamond. Take the left edge of the paper and fold towards the center anything that is not part of the diamond you made before. Do the same with the other edge of the paper.
    3. 3 Make a vertical bend. Fold the entire pattern vertically in the middle, then unfold it and flip it over to the other side.
    4. 4 Fold in the bottom corners. Take the bottom two corners and fold them up until they touch the center of the origami. Bend them so that what used to be the bottom edge now runs vertically down towards the center of the origami.
    5. 5 Fold down the top of the origami. Fold the large triangle at the top of the origami towards the bottom of the paper as far as possible until it touches the horizontal line. The top should have three separate cuffs, two small and one large. Bend the larger one down.

Method 3 of 3: Shutting Down

    1. 1 Tuck in the corners. Tuck the two corners bent upward from the bottom line to the inside of the triangular lapel.
    2. 2 Fold down the top two sharp edges. Fold the two remaining sharp edges downward at an angle.
    3. 3 Tuck in the corners again. Tuck the corners of the resulting cuffs inside the existing large cuff.
    4. 4 Evaluate the result. You should now have a heart-shaped origami.

    Tips

    • Look carefully at the illustrations before bending the paper to avoid crooked bends.
    • Practice. If you are new to origami, this project will not be easy for you, and you are unlikely to succeed the first time.
    • You can write something on the "inner" side of the heart and hide the inscription according to the instructions above.
    • It is recommended to start with making a heart out of unnecessary paper, in case something goes wrong; it also gives you more practice.
    • You can put the heart in an origami envelope and gift it.

    Warnings

    • Try not to cut yourself on the paper!

    What do you need

    • Rectangular sheet of paper (22 x 28 cm for letters, A4 or origami paper 15 x 15 cm)
    • Drawing supplies (markers, crayons, colored pencils) (optional)
