If you're looking for a mind-blowing styling but don't know where to buy or how to make an inexpensive hair pomade, here's a simple, inexpensive recipe!
Ingredients
- Fresh olive oil or other vegetable oil
- Fresh vegetable fat
- Scented oil (for aroma)
- Beeswax
Steps
1 Collect ingredients. Use the basic list above to do this, and then add other essential oils to your liking.
2 Melt the beeswax in a clean saucepan over low heat. Continue stirring until it becomes runny. Pour the melted wax into a mixing and cooling container.
3 Add vegetable oil or fat to the hot wax. It is necessary to prevent the wax from hardening too much when it cools again.
4 Add an essential oil (such as peppermint) to add flavor to the lipstick.
5 Chill thoroughly to check consistency. This is important as it affects the styling properties of the lipstick.
6 If you are not happy with the consistency, reheat the mixture.
- If the mixture is too thick, add more oil or fat. Warm up.
- If the mixture is too runny, add wax. Warm up.
7 Add more oil or vegetable fat for extra shine.(optional) if you wish, you can add baking soda to thicken it.
Tips
- Do not use old, rancid oil or grease as the lipstick will smell bad.
- After you've experimented and found the ratios you want, make a big batch, as if you like styling like this you'll need a lot of lipstick.
- You can remove lipstick from your hair in the following ways:
- Rub cornstarch into dry hair to absorb the grease first, and then use shampoo (do not use dish soap, as shampoo is better for hair).
- Or use a dishwashing detergent (shampoo alone may not be enough for oily hair).
- Rub cornstarch into dry hair to absorb the grease first, and then use shampoo (do not use dish soap, as shampoo is better for hair).
Warnings
- Be careful with hot wax!
- Do not use a microwave oven to melt wax; only do it on the stove!
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Be careful not to get lipstick in your eyes or mouth.
- Do not use paraffin or artificial wax instead of beeswax. Paraffin is harder, so the mixture will be granular.
- Use natural edible oils or natural scented oils.
- Never use engine oil or mineral oil, only use edible oils such as olive.
