An inexpensive, environmentally friendly and harmless air freshener can be easily made at home. The main ingredient is found in every kitchen. Use the unique properties of baking soda to refresh and deodorize the air.

Method 1 of 4: Spray Baking Soda Air Freshener

1. 1 Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 cups of water. Stir well to dissolve the baking soda.

Method 2 of 4: Tobacco Smoke Exterminator

Get rid of the unpleasant smell of tobacco smoke using this method.

1. 1 Pour 950 ml of warm water into a spray bottle.
2. 2 Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda.
3. 3 Shake the bottle well.
4. 4 Spray the contents into the smoky air. This will reduce odor and smoke.

Method 3 of 4: Remove odors from your closet

Sometimes disgusting odors appear in the closet: mold, stinking shoes, and other troubles that happen from time to time.

1. 1 Clean up the source of the unpleasant odor. For example, get rid of mold before it damages everything and remove smelly shoes.
2. 2 Freshen up the air. Soda can be used like this:
   • Open a carton of baking soda and place it directly in the cabinet.
   • Pour equal amounts of baking soda and borax into an empty shoebox. Punch a few holes in the box and leave it in the cabinet.Borax supplements and improves the odor-absorbing properties of baking soda (but be careful, borax is poisonous if swallowed).

   • Mix a quarter cup of baking soda with half a cup of white vinegar (not vinegar essence !!!) in 3.5 liters of water.
   • Wash the cabinet. Dirt and odor will be washed off immediately and the cabinet will be fresh again.

Method 4 of 4: Car Air Freshener

The closed space of the machine is quickly filled with various odors that do not fade away. Baking soda will refresh stale air in one second!

1. 1 Sprinkle baking soda on the seats.
2. 2 Let it soak for 1 to 2 minutes.
   • If someone vomits onto the seats or floor, sprinkle a lot of baking soda on top of it, wipe and clean the floor or seat. Repeat until you achieve the desired result, then vacuum the area.
3. 3 Vacuum. The air in the car should be fresher.

Tips

• Use an open box of baking soda if you need to get rid of the naphthalene smell.
• Spreading baking soda on odorous surfaces will improve air quality. For example, you can put baking soda in trash cans, dishwashing sponges, shoes, etc.
• Change the spray every few weeks to a fresh one.
