Open Google Maps on Android. It has the map icon commonly found on the home screen or in the app drawer.
Click the blue dot on the map.
Press Compass calibration (Calibrate compass). This option is in the lower left corner of the screen.
Tilt your Android device in a pattern on the screen. You need to follow the pattern on the screen three times in order to properly calibrate the compass.
