Good perfume nowadays costs a lot. A bottle of Chanel, for example, costs around 30,000, and this is a fragrance that everyone knows! But you can make your own perfume - less expensive, but definitely more interesting and high quality, because you yourself will decide which components to add and which not.

Steps

  1. 1 Prepare perfume according to the formula: 15-30% essential oil, 70-80% pure alcohol or vodka, 5% distilled or bottled water. Essential oil can be replaced with a cheaper aromatic oil, but such perfumes will be less persistent, plus do not forget that aromatic oils are artificially created oils, so perfumes made on their basis will not be natural. Essential oils are sold in pharmacies and beauty stores. Store your perfume in a small glass or plastic container. You can buy a bottle with a dispenser, and it will be even easier to use the perfume. You can also buy some interesting vintage perfume bottle from a thrift store or flea market.
  2. 2 Expect to spend a lot of time experimenting before you get the perfect scent. First, add 5 drops of the essential oil you like to a quarter glass of vodka. Depending on how long-lasting you want your perfume to be, let the mixture sit for 48 hours to one month. The longer the perfume is infused, the more persistent it will be. After the perfume has settled, add 2 tablespoons of water to the container. If the smell is too strong, you can add a little more water. Add one tablespoon of glycerin to your perfume for a more lasting scent. Glycerin is a colorless thick liquid used in soap making. In a mixture of water and alcohol, glycerin remains liquid, but accelerates the process of breaking down and dissolving other ingredients.
  3. 3 Before you start creating your own scent, learn that there are three types of notes. The first is the base note, which lasts the longest on the skin. The base note contains essential oils of vanilla, cinnamon and sandalwood. The second is a heart note, found in the oils of lemon grass, geranium, neroli and ylang-ylang. Top notes complete the fragrance, they are not as persistent as the previous two, but they add even more interest to the fragrance. Top notes are found in essential oils of rose, lavender, jasmine, bergamot. If you will be using more than one fragrance, first add the base note to the perfume, then the heart note, and finally the top note.
  4. 4 Study the internet! A large number of original recipes can be found on the net. You will most likely enjoy playing with the scents, but be prepared for disappointments as well. After creating your own perfume, be sure to come up with a name for it!
  5. 5 Now that you know how to create a natural perfume, you can get started! Home-made perfume is a good birthday and New Year gift! Do not be afraid, create, and you will succeed!

Tips
