Robin is Batman's loyal friend and helper. To feel yourself in the role of this hero, you can make his costume, because it is not difficult at all. For the costume, you only need to purchase a few simple items, so you can easily make yourself a Robin outfit in which you will look amazing!

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Prepare the suit

1. 1 Buy a green tee. Find a tight green tee so your suit has the same green sleeves as Robin's outfit. You will fit this shirt under another shirt so that only these sleeves are visible.
   • A long-sleeved or three-quarter sleeve T-shirt can be used if desired.
   • It is permissible to use a T-shirt with a print. The main thing is that she has solid green sleeves. Only them will be visible in the suit.
2. 2 Slip a red tank top over a green tee. Find a red tank top to wear on top of a green T-shirt. If you can't find a ready-made tank top, you can get a regular red T-shirt and cut or tuck and pin the sleeves on it.
   • If you have a green T-shirt with long sleeves or three-quarter sleeves, then you can simply wear a red short-sleeved T-shirt on it.
   • A red sleeveless jacket with a v-neck will not work for you, as a green T-shirt should not stick out from under the sleeveless jacket in the neck area.
   • If you want to dress up in a classic Robin outfit, leave the red tank top out.
3. 3 Craft and attach the Robin logo to the vest. Cut out a circle of black felt to prepare the base for the "R" logo. Cut the letter "R" out of yellow felt and glue it in the center of the black circle with textile glue. Next, use the same textile glue to glue the logo onto the red tank top on the front left side of the chest.
   • If needed, you can print the Robin logo to use as a template to help you make felt pieces.
   • Robin's modern logo looks like a stylized "R" on an oblique black oval, which is oriented at 2 and 8 o'clock (as measured by the hour dial).
4. 4 Draw horizontal stripes of yellow lacing on the red vest in the middle of the chest. The lacing should start at the very top of the vest.
   • The classic Robin has lacing down to the belt, while his modern incarnation has lacing just above the belly.
5. 5 Buy green leggings, tights, or pants. Find green leggings, tights, or pants to match your green tee. Pants should be tight-fitting and free from unnecessary pockets.
   • The classic Robin wears nude leggings, tights, or pants.
6. 6 Put on the red swimming trunks on top. Wear red swimming trunks over green trousers. Ideally, if the swimming trunks are exactly the same tone as the red sleeveless jacket.
   • If you can't find red swimming trunks, you can replace them with short red shorts.
   • Note that the classic Robin wears green bikini bottoms to match a green tee.

Part 2 of 2: Make accessories

1. 1 Make a mask. Use black felt and elastic to create a Robin mask. The shape of the Robin mask is unique, so it's best to print or draw a pattern on paper first.
   • Transfer the outline of the template to the felt and cut out the felt mask.
   • Glue or sew one end of the elastic to one side of the mask.
   • Place the mask over your face and drag the tape around your head to measure the point at which it should be trimmed.
   • Cut the elastic and sew or glue the other end to the mask from the other side.
   • Note that the classic Robin mask looks more like a sleeping mask or cloth bandage.
2. 2 Buy or make a belt. Robin wears a black belt with a gold buckle. If you are going to buy a belt, then the soldier's belt of the Soviet army is best for you. To make your own belt, take a 5 cm wide strip of black fabric (or felt) and glue an imitation yellow fabric (or felt) buckle onto it.
   • The modern version of Robin wears a yellow belt. Stick the circle cut from the yellow foamiran onto the buckle of the yellow belt.
3. 3 Make a cape. Robin's costume is complemented by a long cape. The color of the cape depends on which version of the hero you decide to reproduce. A classic Robin's cape should be completely yellow. The modern hero has it completely black or black with a yellow lining.
   • Obtain a rectangular piece of fabric that is 30 centimeters wider than your shoulders and long enough to hang down to your ankles when draped over your shoulders.
   • If you want to make a black and yellow cape, sew together the same pieces of black and yellow fabric on all four sides.
   • Open the cape out of the fabric. You can use a ready-made cape pattern or draw its outline by hand directly onto the fabric. Fold a rectangle of fabric in half lengthwise. Cut one corner at the top so that a semicircular cutout 4 cm deep from the top edge of the cape forms on the folded side. Round off the second (double) corner. Cutting out a semicircle on the side of the fold is necessary in order to create the neck of the cape.
   • Glue or sew on tapes at the corners on either side of the neckline of the cape so that it can be tied around the neck.
   • The classic version of Robin has a shirt collar on the cape, while the modern Robin has a cape with a stand-up collar.
   • The cape collar can be made separately.
4. 4 Complete the costume with gloves. Robin wears green gloves to the elbow. If you can manage to find long green gloves, then they will be a great addition to the suit.
   • If you don't find long green gloves, you can replace them with black ones.
5. 5 Put on black boots. To complete the look, you need tall black boots. It is best to take rubber boots. But if you don't have black boots, wear any black boots instead.
   • Classic Robin wears special green kung fu slippers.
6. 6 Pick up the bo staff to complete the look. In some of his incarnations, Robin walks with a folding bo staff, which is a straight stick for combat.
   • Try purchasing a bo staff from a carnival costume store.
   • Alternatively, make your own staff from a broomstick. Wrap a narrow strip of cloth or thin string around the middle of the handle to create a comfortable grip in the center of the staff.
   • A staff is not required for the costume of the classic version of Robin, as he did not carry such a weapon with him.

Tips

• Match the green and red elements of the suit to match the tone so that it looks like a single whole.
• Use templates to craft additional costume elements. The templates can be found online and printed.
• You can also attach the ends of the cape to the shoulders of the suit using square Velcro fasteners.
• If you're looking to prove yourself a true Robin fan, dress up as Dick Grayson or Tim Drake from the 90s movies. The outfits of Robin's other incarnations are fine too, but they don't look as flamboyant.
