You can deeply cleanse your face in the comfort of your own home! Use the tips and homemade recipes below to pamper yourself with spa treatments.

Steps

  1. 1 Get your hair off your face using a hair band. Wash your hands thoroughly and remove all makeup from your face.
  2. 2 Cleanse your skin with a facial cleanser that suits your skin type. Then rinse your face with clean warm water. (Gel cleansers are more suitable for combination / oily skin, while creamy cleansers are more suitable for normal / dry skin types.)
    • To make your own cleanser, mix 3 tbsp. fresh apple juice, 6 tablespoons whole milk and 2 tablespoons of honey, which has been heated in the microwave for 10 seconds.
  3. 3 Use an exfoliator to get rid of dead skin. To make a homemade scrub, combine 1 crushed banana, 50 grams of granulated sugar, 50 grams of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon of vitamin E.
  4. 4 Steam your face by pouring hot water into any bowl or sink.
    • Cut open a green tea bag and add the contents to the water.
    • Keep your face a few centimeters from the water with a towel on top (on the steam bath) for 5 minutes.
  5. 5 Apply the mask while your pores remain open. Clay or mud masks are best for deep cleansing combination to oily skin, however there are clay masks for dry skin types.
    • For a homemade mask, combine 40 grams of cocoa powder, 100 grams of honey, 3 tablespoons of cream, and 3 tablespoons of oatmeal. Apply to skin for 10 minutes before rinsing (combination or oily skin).
    • Alternatively, combine 100 grams of crushed raspberries, 40 grams of oatmeal, and 50 grams of honey. Apply to skin for 10 minutes, then rinse off (normal to dry skin).
  6. 6 Use a toner to restore the skin's normal acid-base balance. Use cotton pads (sometimes toners come in a spray bottle).
    • To make a homemade tonic, you can use leftover green tea from the steam bath (for all skin types), rose water (normal / dry skin), or witch hazel infusion (combination / oily skin).
  7. 7 Apply serum to your skin. It will penetrate deeper into the skin than any other product. To make it more effective, pat the serum into the skin instead of rubbing it in as usual.
  8. 8 Apply the cream around the eyes and on the cheekbones up to the temples. For homemade eye cream, use natural oils such as argan oil or coconut oil.
  9. 9 Moisturize your skin. Avoid using a light moisturizer as your skin has just been deep cleansed and needs to replenish moisture, otherwise it will start producing oil and clog your pores, which will then develop acne. You can use the oil to moisturize your skin (even if you have oily skin). If you have oily skin, you shouldn't be afraid to apply oils to your face; they will help balance the oils your skin produces.
  10. 10 Use a lip scrub to get rid of any dead skin on your lips. As a lip scrub, you can simply use a damp toothbrush in gentle circular motions, or mix powdered sugar and any oil of your choice until you achieve the consistency you want.
  11. 11 Apply balm to moisturize your lips.
  12. 12 Get rid of acne. If you have acne, take a cotton ball or cotton ball and apply cleansing water or toner to the tip of the disc. Cleanse the pimple with the solution soaked in the tip of the disc to allow the spot treatment you are using to work more effectively. Use spot treatments containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. For topical home remedies, use tea tree oil or toothpaste.
