The net asset value is determined by the cent of a share / unit of a joint stock / unit investment fund. Despite the fact that stock prices on the stock exchange change in minutes and even seconds, the net asset value of investment funds is determined daily at the close of the day, which makes this indicator easy enough for investors or brokers to observe. Steps

1. 1 Find the total value of the securities held by the investment fund.
   • It will include the value of all short-term and long-term assets of the fund.

3. 3 Divide the net asset value by the number of shares / units of the investment fund.
   • This will give you the net asset value per share / unit of the investment fund.

Tips

• Many investment funds have official websites where you can access the required financial information and documentation (eg balance sheet). The balance sheet of the investment fund will indicate the assets, liabilities and number of shares of the investment fund.

Warnings

• Do not rely solely on daily fluctuations in the net asset value of an investment fund to determine its performance. These fluctuations are influenced by many factors, incl.compulsory distribution of income, which makes this indicator not very informative for determining the success of the fund.
