Almost all pet owners face flea-related problems from time to time. These insects are annoying, unsanitary, and their bites can really cause a lot of inconvenience to your dog or cat. Read our article to find out how to prevent their bites.
Steps
1 Remove fleas from your pets. If you spot a flea on your dog or cat, it is likely that you will notice another ... and another ... and another. And if there are fleas, then there will be their eggs. The best way to get rid of these small insects is to bathe your animals regularly. Yes, this also applies to your cat! 
2 Go to a pet store, pharmacy, or supermarket. Find a special shampoo that kills fleas, their larvae, and eggs. Read the bottle label carefully. 
3 After you buy the shampoo, bathe your pet by following the directions printed on the bottle.
4 Once you get rid of fleas, you need to make sure they don't reappear. If fleas are in your house, then buy a remedy for them. 
5 Keep your dog or cat out of the yard for too long (especially in spring and summer) because they can catch fleas and ticks this way.
6 From time to time, wash your pet with a special flea shampoo.
Tips
- Walk around the house in white socks and check for fleas. To prevent them from biting you, rub the skin over your socks with tea tree oil.
- Check with your veterinarian.
- Be sure to use special flea products. Don't waste time trying to get rid of them manually. They multiply very quickly.
- Don't worry too much if you see a flea on you. They are much more troublesome for your pets.
