Want to stay up to date with the latest news? Google News is a great service to help you keep track of everything that is happening in the world right now.

Steps

Part 1 of 6: Preparation

  1. 1 Go to the Google News site. Open the page https://news.google.ru/ in your browser. Select "News" in the upper-right corner of the Google search results page.
  2. 2 Choose a section. Select Headlines, Local News, or a News Selection based on your interests at the top of the page. Click on each section for the latest news.
  3. 3 Choose a topic. Select your favorite topic on the left side of the page. For example, select Breaking News, Science & Technology, Business, Culture, Sports, or Health.
  4. 4 Share the news. Click on the "Share link" button next to the title and choose a social network to post the news to, or copy the link from the pop-up menu.

Part 2 of 6: Editing the section list

  1. 1 Open the section settings. Click on "Manage Sections" at the bottom of the Sections list. Or go to: news.google.com/news/settings/sections
  2. 2 Add a new section. Enter any topics that interest you (football, Twitter or music). Add a section title (optional).
  3. 3 Save the settings. Click on "Add Section".
  4. 4 Delete or edit your sections. Scroll down to the "Active Sections" list and click on "Hide" to hide the section. To rearrange the sections, drag them below or above.

Part 3 of 6: Changing General Settings

  1. 1 Open general settings. Select the General section in the left pane.
  2. 2 If you want, turn off automatic news updates. Uncheck the "Update news automatically" option to disable automatic page updates.
  3. 3 If you do not want the news to open in a new window, uncheck the "Open articles in a new window" option.

Part 4 of 6: Adding Interests

  1. 1 Go to the section "Your interests". Select the Your Interests section in the left pane.
  2. 2 Add your interests. Enter your interests in the appropriate field.
  3. 3 Ready. The news you are interested in will appear in the "For you" section.

Part 5 of 6: Managing Local News

  1. 1 Please select Local News Section in the panel on the left.
  2. 2 Add a new region. Enter the postal code or city name in the appropriate field.
