Sometimes in Pokemon FireRed or LeafGreen you can climb a tree that can be cut. All you need in such a situation is the "Cut" HM. Unfortunately, getting HM is a hassle, but you can do it if you go to the right places and defeat the right people.

Steps

1. 1 When you reach Cerulean City, cross the Nugget Bridge and head right.
2. 2 Defeat all the trainers and go to Bill's house and make him human again. He will give you a ticket for the SS. ANNE.
3. 3 Go to Vermillion City, go to the docks and climb aboard the ship.
4. 4 Defeat all trainers and go to the top. You will fight your rival Gary.
5. 5 After that, head to the room and help the captain and after that you will receive the HM cut.

Tips

• He uses Electric Pokémon, so bring the Ground type. You can catch Diglett or Dugtrio in Diglett Cave, at the east exit of Vermillion.
• Use the cut to cut down the tree and fight the LT. Surge, the leader of the 3rd gym.
