1 Select color (s). If you have dark hair, it is better to choose a darker color. If you have very blonde hair, you are in luck - there are a lot to choose from, since almost all colors will be noticeable on such hair.- If you want to try dyeing your hair in a truly original color or are not very sure how this or that color will look on you, this guide is for you.
- If you do not like the result, then you do not have to walk for a long time with the chosen color, since it is enough to wash your hair several times and the paint will come off.
- Use scissors to remove the plug from the bottom of the marker to expose the bottom of the marker.
- Hit the tip of the pen on a hard surface several times to dislodge the ink tube inside.
- Gently pull out the ink tube.
- Remember to hold the pipe over a cup or other container. As soon as you start blowing, ink will flow from the other end of the tube, and in order not to get dirty, you will need another container to pour the ink into.
Part 2 of 3: Apply paint
- 1 Put on gloves and an old T-shirt. If you don't, you will most likely get dirty. Sooner or later you will be able to wash the paint off your hands, but until then your hands will be a strange color. Wear an old T-shirt that you don't mind getting dirty, as paint will almost certainly get on your clothes (unless you are an expert).
- 2 Apply paint the way you want. Some people prefer to dip the ends of their hair into a container of dye, while others apply it to the hair in strokes. You can dye only part of your hair or not stand on ceremony and dye it completely. Just don't forget how much paint you have. The more hair you want to dye, the more dye you will need, which means the more markers you have to open.
- Some craftsmen choose to cut off the ink tube and rub it directly into their hair. You can try this method if you think it will be easier to achieve the desired result.
- 3 Cover your hair and wait for the dye to absorb. If you dyed multiple strands, wrap them in foil to prevent dye from getting on unpainted hair. If you have dipped your hair in dye, wrap the ends in foil or leave them as they are. Be very careful not to rub your hair on anything until the dye is absorbed.
- Unlike traditional hair dyes, this does not need to be washed out. In the case of felt-tip ink, the hair should be allowed to dry while the dye is still on it. Leave the foil on until your hair is dry.
Part 3 of 3: Check the result
- 1 Let your colored hair dry. If you wrapped parts of your hair in foil, remove it after 30-60 minutes to allow the hair to dry naturally. This is the best way to dry your hair, but if you are in a hurry, blow dry. While your hair is drying, be careful not to rub it against furniture, walls, or anything else that might get dyed.
- If you have added hair conditioner to the dye, rinse it off with cold water, then let it dry.
- 2 Check the result. If the color appears to be more saturated than you would like, rinse your hair with cold water. It is very important that the water is cold, as hot water will completely wash the dye from the hair. If the color does not seem dark enough for you, dye your hair again until you get the desired effect.
- The advantage of this method is that it can be tailored to the image you want to create. Rinse your hair to lighten the color, or reapply the color to darken it without damaging your hair. Unlike regular hair dyes, here you can experiment and choose the method that works for your hair.
- 3 Spray colored hair with hairspray. Style your hair however you want. When finished, spray your hair with hairspray. This will keep the hair in shape and smooth out the colored parts. Enjoy your new fancy hairstyle!
