Have you ever wondered if your iPod or iPhone headphones look dirty? They are easy to clean!

Steps

  1. 1 Disconnect the headphones from the device.
  2. 2 Take a cotton swab and moisten it with rubbing alcohol.
  3. 3 Gently run a cotton swab over the headphone housing.
  4. 4 Let the headphones dry.

Tips

  • Better to use water or alcohol. Other cleaning fluids can damage the headphones.
  • Use a dry toothbrush to clean the tiny holes in your headphones.
  • Cotton swabs work too, but cleaning will take longer as they are smaller than cotton swabs.
  • You can use an old syringe to remove dirt from the small holes in the speaker grill. Place the tip of the syringe against the speaker grill and firmly pull the syringe plunger toward you. This will cause the syringe to “suck up” the dirt. Repeat as needed. This is a good way to clean your headphones if you can't remove the speaker grilles.

Warnings

  • Do not overdo it with water when cleaning the headphones. This can lead to their breakage.
