Bids (bids) on ebay are usually considered final, but sometimes unintentional errors occur, and then the bid can be canceled. Both sellers and buyers can cancel the bid, especially in cases where both parties agree to do so, but this must be done within a certain period of time. Steps

Method 1 of 2: Canceling a Bid as a Buyer

1. 1 Check how much time is left until the end of the auction. If there are more than 12 hours remaining, it is not difficult to revoke the bid.
   • Near the end time, eBay allows you to cancel the bid one hour before the end.
   • If you placed your bid more than an hour ago and the auction ends in less than 12 hours, you will most likely need to contact the seller.
2. 2 EBay's Bid Withdrawal Policy. If you are canceling a bid due to a typographical error or communication issues between you and the seller, you can use the standard ebay bid recall form. They will allow you to cancel a bid for one of the following reasons:
   • You typed in the wrong amount by accident: If you accidentally print $ 890.00 instead of $ 89.00, you can withdraw the bid and enter the correct amount.
   • Significant changes were made to the auction after you submitted your bid. A bid can be canceled if the seller has changed the description of the item, its condition and delivery terms.
   • You cannot contact the seller. If you have not received answers to your questions about the product and cannot contact the seller by phone or email, the bid can be canceled.
3. 3 If you indicate one of these common reasons, please fill out the "Bid Retraction Form" on eBay. You will need to indicate the item number on the auction and select the reason for canceling the bid in the drop-down menu.
   • The item number can be found in the upper right corner in the “description” section - the item listing just above the “Item Specifics” rectangle.
   • Click on the "Retract Your Bid" button at the bottom of the "Bid History" page. Follow the instructions on each page until you get to the form.
   • You can find a link to the form on the “Retracting or Canceling your Bid” page in the ebay help section.
   • If you enter “entered wrong amount” as the reason for canceling the bid, you will be asked to enter the correct amount.
   • To submit a request, click on the "Retract Bid" button at the bottom of the form.
4. 4 If this form fails to cancel the bid, please try contacting the seller. Bids can be canceled at the discretion of the seller, many sellers in good faith will agree to cancel the bid.
   • Contact the seller as early as possible, remember, it is the seller who decides to cancel the bid.
   • If the seller does not want to cancel the bid and you win the auction, then you are legally obligated to buy the item.
   • This will not affect your rating. But the line “bid retractions” will be added to the testimonial page, and if you abuse the retraction of bids, sellers can later block your participation in the auction.
5. 5 Bids for cars and properties are not binding. Given the complexity of such transactions, ebay recognizes that these bids do not tie the buyer and seller into a contract.
   • Although you will not be required to complete your purchase, it is a violation of ebay to submit bids without intent to buy.
   • Buyers' remorse is not considered a compelling reason to cancel a bid, but if you become aware of a purchase problem after winning the auction, you have the right to cancel the transaction.

Method 2 of 2: Cancel a Bid as a Seller

1. 1 Go to the Canceling Bids Placed on Your Listing page on eBay. This page is available to sellers through the "Bid History" link on the auction page. Follow the links provided by eBay and you will go to the “Canceling Bids Placed in Your Auction” form.
2. 2 Check the reason for canceling the bid. The form requires briefly (no more than 80 characters) to indicate the reason. There are the following legitimate reasons:
   • A buyer contacted you and asked to cancel the bid.
   • You cannot verify the identity of the buyer.
   • The buyer received many negative reviews.
   • You do not ship packages to the buyer's country.
   • You need to close the auction.
3. 3 Fill out the form to the end, then click “cancel bid”. Next, you will need to enter your username, password, item number for the auction, and the user ID whose bid you want to cancel.
   • The item number can be found in the upper right corner in the “description” section - the item listing, which sits directly above the “Item Specifics” rectangle.
   • The bidder's ID will be listed next to their bid.
