In this article, you will learn how to use the WhatsApp Mailing feature to find out which of your WhatsApp contacts has your phone number. Keep in mind that a person can correspond with you even if they don't have your phone number; Moreover, the methods described here will not work if the person rarely uses WhatsApp.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: iPhone

1. 1 Launch the WhatsApp app. Click on the white phone tube icon inside the speech cloud on a green background. It is located on one of the desktops or in the control room.
   • If you are not yet signed in to WhatsApp, follow the onscreen instructions.
2. 2 Tap Chat rooms. This tab, marked with the speech clouds icon, is at the bottom of the screen.
   • If you have opened any correspondence in WhatsApp, first click "Back" (the arrow icon) in the upper left corner of the screen.
3. 3 Tap Mailing list. You will find this blue link in the upper left corner of your screen. A list of your mailings will open.
4. 4 Click on New list. It's at the bottom of the screen. A list of contacts will open.
5. 5 Pick at least one person who you know has your phone number.
6. 6 Select the person you want to check, that is, find out if they have your phone number.
7. 7 Tap Create. It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. The newsletter will be created and will open in the chat.
8. 8 Send a message to a group of people. Click on the text box at the bottom of the screen, enter a short message (for example, test) and click "Submit" (arrow icon) to the right of the text box. Your message will be sent to multiple recipients.
9. 9 Wait a while. It all depends on the time of day when you sent the message - it is better to wait an hour or two for the recipients of the message to have time to read it.
10. 10 Open the information menu of the sent message. For this:
    • open the "Chats" page, tap "Mailing List" and select a mailing list to open it;
    • press and hold the message until the pop-up menu appears;
    • press "►" on the right side of the pop-up menu;
    • click Details.
11. 11 Find the "Read" section. The person who read your message has your phone number, so this section will display the names of people you know have your phone number.
    • If in this section you find the name of the person you wanted to check, he has your phone number.
    • Keep in mind that the name of someone who has your phone number but rarely uses WhatsApp will not appear in the Read section until the next time you start WhatsApp.
12. 12 Find the "Delivered" section. People who don't have your phone number won't receive your newsletter, so their names will appear in the Delivered section.
    • If you find the name of the person you wanted to check in this section, they most likely don't have your phone number.

Method 2 of 2: Android device

3. 3 Tap ⋮. This icon is in the upper right corner of the screen. A menu will open.
4. 4 Click on New mailing list. This option is on the menu. A list of your contacts will open.
5. 5 Pick at least one person who you know has your phone number.
6. 6 Select the person you want to check, that is, find out if they have your phone number.
7. 7 Tap ✓. This icon is in the lower right corner of the screen. The newsletter will be created and will open in the chat.
