Apple's Safari web browser has a search engine located next to the address bar. While this can come in handy at times, your search history can add to the hassle. Read on to find out how to clear your search history.

Steps

  1. 1 Download Safari. You do not need an internet connection to complete this task, however you should be able to download a browser.
  2. 2 Find the search engine box. If you haven't customized the toolbar for yourself, it should be located to the right of the address bar and to the left of the settings icon.
  3. 3 Click on the magnifying glass. A drop-down menu will appear with a list of your recent requests.
  4. 4 Look under the list of recent searches. There will be a dividing line followed by the text "Erase Recent Requests". Click on this inscription.
  5. 5 Select the magnifying glass again. Now you will only see Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

Tips

  • This only clears the search history, not the website history or cache.
