If you decide to sell your computer, you can determine the selling price based on its age, components, and specifications. Since new technologies are regularly introduced to the market, you may need to determine the selling price or “ideal price” for your computer. Now the best way to evaluate a computer or determine the price of its possible sale is to "walk" the Internet sites. Steps

1. 1 Determine the make, model, and specifications of your computer. To determine the selling price of your computer, you must have complete information about its components.
   • Check the instructions for your computer (warranty card or other documents for it) to determine the following: manufacturer, model, processor and its speed, size and type of hard disk, memory, monitor diagonal, and so on.
   • If you do not have documents on your computer, study the computer yourself. This can be done by looking at the manufacturer's logo on the computer, or by turning on the computer and viewing the System Properties menu. For example, if you are selling a Windows computer, right-click on the "Computer" icon on your desktop and select "Properties."
2. 2 Go to the eBay website. On eBay, you can view both the prices of computers of the same model as yours, which are currently being sold on the site, and those that have been sold previously and have already been sold.

3. 3 Look for a computer of the same make and model.
   • Enter the manufacturer and model in the eBay search box and click the Search button. Let's say if you want to sell a Dell Inspiron Mini laptop - enter these words in the search box.
4. 4 Refine your search options based on the state of your computer. If you indicate whether your computer is new or used ("second-hand"), you will receive more accurate search results and, accordingly, prices.
   • Check the "New" or "Used" checkbox in the "Condition" section of the sidebar on the left side of the page. The website will automatically refresh and show new search results based on the specified parameters.
5. 5 Review the search results to determine the potential selling price of your computer. Although the price will differ depending on the seller, you will be able to determine the price range for your computer fairly accurately.
6. 6 Browse completed eBay auctions. This will show you how much buyers paid for similar models at the close of the auction. This step will be available if you have an eBay account.
   • Scroll up the eBay site, then click the "Sign in" link to sign in to your eBay account. If you don't have an account, click the Register link to create an eBay account.
   • Click on the "Advanced" link to the right of the "Search" button to access advanced search settings.
   • Enter the manufacturer and model of your computer in the search field, and then check the "Completed listings" checkbox.
   • Click on the "Search" button to display a list of completed auctions with the final price of the computers at which they were sold.
7. 7 Use online tools to estimate the selling price of your computer. There are quite a few sites where you can enter the parts and specifications of your computer in order to calculate the possible selling price.
   • Go to any search engine and type in a key phrase like "appraise my computer" or "appraise a computer" to find sites with tools for calculating the cost of selling a computer.
