In this article, we'll show you how to add a mail account to the Mail app on your iPhone.

Steps

1. 1 Open the Settings app . Its icon looks like gray gears and is usually found on the home screen.
2. 2 Scroll down the page and tap Passwords and accounts. This option is on the settings page.
3. 3 Click on Add account. You will find this option under the list of current accounts.
   • If you already have multiple email accounts added to your iPhone, scroll down the list of accounts to find the specified option.
4. 4 Select a postal service. To do this, click on:
   • iCloudif you have an Apple Mail account.
   • Exchangeif you have a Microsoft Exchange account.
   • Googleif you have a Gmail or Google account.
   • YAHOO!if you have a Yahoo Mail account.
   • Aolif you have an AOL account.
   • Outlook.comif you have an Outlook, Hotmail or Live account.
   • If the email service you are using is not listed, tap Other below the list of accounts.
5. 5 Enter your email account details. You must enter the email address and password for the account you want to add.
   • Your actions depend on the postal service you are using.
   • If you have selected the "Other" option, enter the details of the mail server; they can be found on the postal website.
6. 6 Click on the white slider next to the "Mail" option . It will turn green ... This will add the selected mail account to the Mail app.
7. 7 Select the account data you want to sync. You can sync calendar entries and contacts with the Calendar and Contacts applications by tapping the white slider to the right of Calendar or Contacts.
   • If you want, synchronize your email account data with the Notes application by tapping the white slider to the right of Notes.
   • If the slider is green, the selected data will be synchronized.

Tips

• If you add a mailbox to the Mail app on your iPhone, you can open it on other Apple devices that you've signed in with the same Apple ID.

Warnings

• If you add a mail account to the Mail app on your iPhone, the corresponding mail service app will not install. For example, if you add a Gmail account, the Gmail application itself will not be downloaded to your device.
