In this article, we'll show you how to change the bio on Facebook that appears below your photo on your Facebook page.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone / Android

1. 1 Launch the Facebook app. Click the white "f" icon on a blue background.
   • If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address or phone number and password.
2. 2 Press the Home button. Click on the home screen page icon.
   • On iPhone, this button is located in the lower-left corner of the screen.
   • On an Android device, this button is in the upper-left corner of the screen, below the search bar.
3. 3 Click on your profile picture. Tap your photo in the status bar at the top of the home screen or the thumbnail photo in the upper right corner of the screen.You will be taken to your profile page.
4. 4 Click on your bio. You will find it under your profile picture, name, and navigation bar. The on-screen keyboard opens and you can change your biography.
5. 5 Edit your bio. Think about what you want to communicate about yourself to other users, and enter the appropriate text (you can use emoji).
6. 6 Tap Save. You will find this option in the upper right corner of the screen; updated biography will be saved.

Method 2 of 2: On a computer

1. 1 Open the site Facebook in a web browser.
   • If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address or phone number and password.
2. 2 Click on your name in the navigation menu on the left. Your name and profile thumbnail are at the top of the navigation menu in the upper-left corner of your home page. You will be taken to your profile page.
3. 3 Hover over your bio. A pencil icon appears next to it.
4. 4 Click on the pencil icon. This is the Edit button. The biography can now be changed.
5. 5 Edit your bio. Think about what you want to communicate about yourself to other users, and enter the appropriate text.
6. 6 Click Save. You will find this button under your bio - it will be saved.

Warnings

• If your current bio contains emoticons, you can view and delete them in the browser on your computer, but not enter new ones. You can add new emoji only on a mobile device.
