TweetDeck is a great app for power users from Twitter. Using TweetDeck, you will be able to follow many more people than working directly on Twitter or any other application.

  1. 1 Go to the TweetDeck website and follow the instructions provided to install the software, or open the application's web interface
    • When you first launch this application, you will need to create a TweetDeck account. It is different from a Twitter account.

    • Interactions: This is a thread with all tweets and actions that include @YourName, where YourName is your username. This is similar to clicking @Connect on Twitter.com.

    • Messages: This stream displays your private messages received on twitter. And also the messages you send via TweetDeck.
  3. 3 Use a search tool.
    • Click on the search box in the upper right corner.
    • In the search box, write any query, for example, "wikiHow" or "AboutUs.org OR @AboutUs"
    • Select one of the options in the list or press Enter to search.
    • Click on 'Add Column' to add a new column with a stream of tweets that match your search query.
    • You can add any number of search terms.
  4. 4 Lists: These are twitter lists. When adding a column to TweetDeck, you can specify the people whose tweets will be displayed in the stream of this column. This option replaces the previous TweetDeck function, 'Groups'.
    • To create a list, click on 'Lists' in the upper left corner.
    • Click on 'Create list'
    • Enter the list title and description, then click on 'Done'
    • On the next screen, you can find and add users to this list.
    • Alternatively, you can close the window, then in the actions menu of any Tweet or TweetDeck profile, select 'Add to list' to add the corresponding user to one (or more) of your lists.
