The guide below will show you the best eBay sniper techniques to increase your chances of winning the auction at the lowest possible price.

1. 1 Find an auction in which you are interested.
2. 2 Watch this lot. Mark when trading on it comes to an end, and try to keep this information in your head further. Make a note of the item number and the end time of the auction.

   • In the upper right corner of the Firefox browser, between the (-) and (X) signs, there is a cell with two small boxes in it. Click on this box to reduce the size of the window. Then hold and drag its sides so that it occupies half of the screen: this way you can see the lot of the item you are interested in and the icon that you need to click on to place a bid.
   • Open Firefox again and do the same in the new window that appears.
   • Go back to eBay on a new page and look for the item you want to bid on. You can enter the lot number in the search field and the site will go directly to the desired auction. Do not log into your eBay account in the current window; you are only going to use it for timing monitoring.
   • Click every now and then in the new window on the update icon and eBay will show you how much time is left. In the last 10 or 15 seconds (depending on your internet speed), go to another initial window and press the "Submit" button to place your bet.
5. 5 Wait until the end of trading is about 1 minute - 40 seconds. Professionals can, and probably should, wait a little longer, with, say, 30–20 seconds left. Start placing your bet.
6. 6 So, once your auction gets close to the 40 second mark, enter your price and go to the bid confirmation screen, then wait about 20-30 seconds.
7. 7 Better to bet around $ 10.07; which is 7 additional cents higher, but will help you outbid your opponents' price if they set a maximum bet of $ 10. So you win with a measly 7 cents increase. However, sometimes you will have to bid a higher price if the auction settings have large increments for bidding. Below the field where you enter your bet, you will find the inscription "enter _ amount or more".
8. 8 By the time you hit the bet confirmation, there will be about 10 seconds left until the end, which is not enough for most people to re-arrange the bet. This can be done within 10 seconds, but you should act much faster if the product is really popular.

• If the current maximum bid for bidders is higher than yours (each bidder can set a maximum price if they wish, and then eBay will automatically bid each bidder using the bid up feature), then you may not have time to bid another, so make sure you post the best deal in your sniper.
• If you want to get eBay Bucks, the sniper on your desktop is your only choice. Depending on how you place your bet with the program, not all tabletop snipers can support the eBay Bucks program. Please contact your software vendor to clarify this issue.
• Use the application on your desktop if you do not want to run the risk of violating the eBay user agreement by using your username / password in the online auction to work with online sniper sites. Enter “auction sniper windows”, “auction sniper mac”, or “Auction Sniper Linux” to find the software that will run on your computer.
• Check your bid history before the end of the auction, many people use sniper programs, so in some cases their final bid may be listed before the price reaches that amount.

Don't fall for it, stick to your plan.

Warnings

• If you are re-bidding while already holding the highest bidder, then you may have to bid much more than the price you were going to pay. At the same time, someone might outperform your high bid while continuing with regular trading. And you can't win this way!
• Check the location of the item as shipping from other countries can be expensive.
• Outbid before receiving the message: "You’re the high-bidder!" Is a very dangerous business. But this is the only way you can find out about the existence of someone else with the highest rate.
