The popular social network Twitter is used by millions of people, and among them there are probably your friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances. When you create a Twitter account, the first thing you need to do is find people to follow.

Steps

  1. 1 Search for people using the search bar on Twitter. Enter a name and click on the magnifying glass icon. A list of search options appears among posts (tweets), linked posts, and users. For a more efficient search, select the "Search among users" option.
  2. 2 If you know the user's name, enter it in the address bar. To go to the user's news feed, immediately after the site address www.twitter.com enter "/ username" without quotes.
  3. 3 Look for friends by email address. In the sidebar, select Find Friends. You will be prompted to search for Twitter friends among the contacts in your address book. Select a mail service and log in to your account (search among contacts is supported by Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, Yandex, Outlook, AOL Mail and others). In the list of your contacts, select the friends whose news you want to follow on Twitter.
  4. 4 Check out Twitter follow-ups. In the "Like-minded" window, click on the "All" link or on the "Popular Users" link and see the list of users who may be of interest to you. Click on a username to view their profile, or click Read to follow their news feed.

Tips

  • Similarly, you can search for accounts of companies and celebrities and subscribe to their news.

Warnings

  • Do not send requests to users you are unfamiliar with. While there is nothing wrong with that, they will most likely reject your request, and if you insist, they may put you on their blacklist.
