Apple has made it much easier to add devices to your iTunes account. You just need to use certain iTunes services from the device you want to link. Linking devices to your iTunes account will allow you to access any applications, music, and other media that were purchased from those devices. You can also access settings and account management from any linked device.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Linking your device to your iTunes account

  1. 1 Launch iTunes on your device. This can be a computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. Use the device you want to link to your account to access iTunes.
  2. 2 Use one of the features that require linked accounts. Download your purchase history, turn on automatic downloads, Family Sharing, or iCloud Library, or subscribe to iTunes Match to automatically link your device to your iTunes account.
    • Up to 10 devices can be linked to one iTunes account, of which only 5 can be computers.
  3. 3 Authorize the device with your Apple ID. This Apple ID must match your iTunes account. This step is not required for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Method 2 of 2: View or Remove Linked Devices

  1. 1 Go to iTunes. To do this, you need an Apple ID and password.
  2. 2 Click on your name on the top line. Select "Account Information" from the drop-down menu. Reenter password.
  3. 3 Select "Device Management". It's in the iTunes in the Cloud section. After that, a list of associated devices will appear, along with information about when they were associated with the account.
  4. 4 Click on the "Remove" button next to the device to unlink it. Please note that after disconnecting your device from your iTunes account, you will have to wait 90 days before you can link it to another account.
