Phones are an irreplaceable part of our life. Without them, it is impossible to do business, communicate with friends and much more. If you've bought a new phone and want to activate it as soon as possible, we'll tell you how to do it.

Steps

1. 1 Open the box with the phone. Verizon should mail you a new phone. Open the box carefully, do not throw it away, it will still be useful to you. Get out your phone.
2. 2 Move all information from your old phone to your new one. Use the Verizon link here to move all the information you need to your new phone. It's free.
3. 3 Delete everything on your old phone. Click on the reset button. This option is found in the Settings or Security menu. For example, it's called "factory reset." Then remove the SD memory card and transfer it to the new phone. You can also rearrange the battery.
4. 4 Activate your phone. This can be done in several ways.
   • On 3G phones, dial * 228 and press the call button. Press 1 and follow the instructions. (If you have a contract, dial * 22898 and press 2.)
   • For 4G phones, log into your MyVerizon profile. You can find training videos here.
   • Download instructions in PDF format. The Verizon website has instructions here.
   • Use a landline phone to call the Verizon Customer Support Center at (800) 922-0204. Follow the instructions. To do this, you need to know your phone number.
   • Go to the Verizon store. The Verizon store will activate your phone for you.
5. 5 Try to see if your new phone works. After activation, check if everything works on the phone.
6. 6 Put your old phone in the box. Send it back to Verizon. If you do not return your old phone within 5 days after receiving a new one, the company will charge you the full cost of the new phone. You only need to return the phone, you can keep all the accessories, for example, the battery and the USB cable.
