Not sure what to do with your 5GB of free iCloud storage space? Here are a few ideas.

To step

Method 1 of 2: Back up your iOS device

  1. Make an iCloud account. Use the same Apple ID you use for all your devices. If not all of your compatible devices (iOS, Mac, and PC) use the same Apple ID, change them by reading the article on this topic on wikiHow.
  2. Log in to your iCloud from one of your devices. Read the article on how to access iCloud on wikiHow for more instructions on connecting each device.
  3. Connect your iOS device to your computer and open iTunes. On the Overview page, under “Backups”, click on “iCloud”. Click on “Apply” in the lower right corner.

Method 2 of 2: Use Photo Stream

Photo Stream allows you to make your images available on all your devices. Every image you share on Photo Stream is automatically sent to all your devices, via the cloud.

  1. Activate Photo Stream on your computer. Open your iCloud control panel (via download for PCs and System Preferences for Macs) and check the box next to Photo Stream. This will create a folder called “My Photo Stream”, the contents of which can be viewed on your computer.
  2. Turn on Photo Stream on your iOS devices. Go to Settings, click iCloud, and sign in to your iCloud account, if you don't have one. Click on “Photo Stream” and make sure the switch next to “My Photo Stream” is set to “On”. Your phone will now automatically sync every photo you take to the cloud.
