- Pour rubbing alcohol on a tissue and rub it over the old ink stains.
- Many hand sanitizers contain rubbing alcohol. You can rub it directly on the stain and wipe the board clean.
- For ink stains that are difficult to remove, you should place a few drops of isopropyl alcohol on the stain and rub them with your finger. Use enough alcohol to form a thin layer. Wait a few seconds before wiping dry.
Use a pen and write board to paint over old ink stains You can use a pen pen slowly and carefully over the ink marks you want to erase. Bold palette pens will work best. You may have to repeat this step more than once.
- Erase the brush strokes you just filled as usual.
- This is most effective when you want to erase the indelible markers on your whiteboard.
Method 2 of 3: Use a detergent in the bathroom
Use toothpaste. Rub white toothpaste over the ink stains on the board. Clean. Toothpaste contains a very mild, water-soluble corrosive.- This method also helps to remove permanent marker from smooth, non-porous surfaces.
- Any brand works.
Use hair spray. Spray a thin layer of hair spray on the old ink stain. Wait a few minutes to soak, then wipe off with a towel or cotton cloth. Use soap and water to wash off any remaining residue.
- You can also remove old ink stains with a deodorant spray.
Try a muscle pain massage cream. You can remove old ink stains with a pain reliever massage cream like Ben-Gay. Massage creams are less corrosive than toothpaste and contain alcohol, making them a very effective cleaning agent.
Clean the stain with acetone (nail polish remover). Pour a lot of acetone onto a sponge or paper towel. Wipe an area on the board. Use a new tissue and add acetone to clean the area again. Wipe the board with a dry paper towel.
- Acetone is flammable. You need to properly dispose of acetone-soaked paper towels.
- Sprinkle detergent powder on the ink stain. Bathroom cleaning powders like Comet or Ajax can easily remove marker stains. Simply sprinkle a little on a damp sponge and rub over the board. Wipe the board with a wet rag or paper towel after you are done. advertisement
Method 3 of 3: Use kitchen and garage products
Use vinegar and water. Mix a cleaning solution with vinegar and water. Wipe or spray the solution onto the old ink stain, then wipe the board with a clean paper towel.
- The ratio of this solution is 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of vinegar and 240 ml of water.
Mix baking soda and water into a paste. Add a small amount of water to baking soda. Rub the mixture over the old ink stains on the board. Wipe the mixture off with a damp rag or paper towel. This mixture is used to clean indelible brushes very effectively.
Use coffee grounds to scrub the old ink stain. You can rub damp coffee grounds on the board. Coffee grounds are mildly corrosive and will remove ink stains without damaging the board. Wipe the board thoroughly after using the grounds to make sure the whiteboard doesn't turn brown.
Spread the margarine on old ink stains. Rub margarine on the board.You will notice that the butter gradually discolored the ink, meaning it is working. Wipe off the butter with a paper towel.
- Be sure to wipe off the margarine on the board so that it doesn't get slippery when writing.
- If the old ink stain has been on the board for more than a year, cover the margarine and wait 24 hours before cleaning the board.
Use car polish. Apply car polish to the ink stain in a circular motion. Wipe off the wax with a clean rag. This method is very effective for cleaning the most stubborn stains. Automotive polishing wax helps maintain the panel and return the panel surface like new.
- Another good solution often found in the garage is WD-40 oil. This oil also helps lubricate and maintain the board.
