This is an article that guides you how to permanently delete your Yahoo account with Yahoo website and how to remove Yahoo account in Yahoo Mail app on iPhone or Android. Before deleting your Yahoo account, you should make sure to cancel paid Yahoo services and save photos on your Flickr account if necessary.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Delete the account permanently

1. 

   Visit the Yahoo account deletion page. Type https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user go to the address bar of the web browser and press ↵ Enter.

   Enter your email address in the field on the right side of the page, then select next (Continue).

   Enter your password in the field on the right side of the page and select Sign in (Log in).

Method 2 of 2: Remove account on phone

1. 

   Open the Yahoo Mail app with the envelope icon and the word "YAHOO!"white on purple background.

2. 

   Touch ☰ in the upper left corner of the screen to open a selection list.

3. 

   Choose Manage Accounts (Account Management) near the top of the drop-down menu.

4. 

   Choose Edit (Edit) in the upper right corner of the screen.

5. 

   Choose Remove (Remove) on the right side of the account. It's a red button displayed to the right of the account you want to remove.

   Choose Remove (Remove) when required. It's a blue button in the pop-up window. This will remove the selected account from the Yahoo Mail app, but not completely delete it.
   • You will repeat this process for each account you want to remove from Yahoo Mail.

• You can still sign in to your Yahoo account for 90 days before the account is permanently deleted. This step is to ensure you can back up any necessary data before deleting your account.
