Method 4 of 6: Clean vinyl shoes
Remove dirt and sand with an old toothbrush or a soft bristle brush. The first step when cleaning vinyl shoes is to remove dirt or sand from the face and sole. Gently scrub your shoes to remove any dirt before proceeding to the next step.
Treat scratches with a pencil eraser. A normal eraser will help you remove scratches or stains from vinyl shoes. Gently erase these traces with an easy-to-use pencil eraser. Remember not to erase too hard.
Clean the surface of shoes with a damp cloth. Find a clean, soft washcloth like a face towel or an old handkerchief and soak it in warm water, then wring out excess water. You can add a drop of mild soap to a towel. Gently wipe the surface of the shoe. If you use soap, wipe off any remaining soap on your shoes with a damp cloth.
Clean white leather shoes with a wet cloth and specialized detergent. Every few days, use a damp cloth to clean your shoes. If shoes are dirty, squeeze a little white shoe cleanser or white toothpaste on the stain, then rub gently with a wet cloth. Use a clean, dry cloth to clean your shoes.
Rub white canvas shoes with soap. Test the soap by applying it to an invisible area of the shoe. If it doesn't damage the material or the color of the shoe, scrub it gently with soap with a brush. Rinse the shoes with water, then dip shoes in hot water mixed with a few drops of bleach, finally dry them.
Get out the shoelace. To effectively clean the insole, you must remove it from the shoe. Grasp the edge of the pad near the heel of the shoe and gently pull it out.
Remove dirt and sand with an old toothbrush or a soft bristle brush. Scrub the pad gently with a brush until all the sand is removed. Don't scrub too hard, as some fabric shoe insoles may tear.
Use wet towels and soap to wash the pad. Add a little soap to a towel that's soaked in water. Then, scrub off the mat and rinse with warm water to wash off all soap.
Dry the pad before inserting it back into place. After washing the pads, dry them in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and heat. When the pads are completely dry, they can be fitted back in place. advertisement
