If you want to join Instagram culture with millions of other users, you can create your own free Instagram account! The account creation process can be done on a familiar mobile or desktop platform (if you are not tech savvy).

Steps

Method 1 of 3: On the phone

1. 

   Tap on your phone's store app. You need to download the Instagram app to create and access accounts on the mobile device platform.
   • On an iOS device, this is called "App Store"; while Android phones and tablets use the "Google Play Store".

   Find the "Instagram" app. On iOS and Android platforms, you can proceed by pressing the magnifying glass icon in the app store and entering the Instagram keyword.

   Click the appropriate button to download Instagram. Since Instagram is a free app, the button next to the icon should say "Get" (iOS) or "Install" (Android).
   • Instagram may take a few minutes to download depending on the data / Internet connection speed.

   Tap on the Instagram app. Instagram will open.

   Click the "Sign Up" button. You will be prompted to enter information for the account.

   Enter the email address you use in the field provided. Once finished, press the "Next" button.
   • Note: this should be the email address that you have access to.
   • You can also choose to sign in with your Facebook identity here. If you select "Log in with Facebook", Instagram will ask you to log into your Facebook page if you have not done so before.

   Enter your username and password. You need to enter the password twice to confirm its accuracy.
   • You must really like this username before clicking "Next".

8. 

   Enter optional account information. These include avatars, account profiles or links to personal websites. You can add or change this information at any time on the interface of your Instagram account by clicking the "Edit Profile" option at the top of the page.

Method 2 of 3: On the computer

1. 

   Open a browser that you normally use. While your desktop Instagram browsing experience is limited compared to using a phone, you can still set up and access your account from the Instagram website.

   Access Instagram website. Click on the link just now to access.

   Enter registration information on the right side of the page. This information includes:
   • Current email address.
   • Full name.
   • The username you want to use.
   • The password you want to use.
   • You can also click "Log in with Facebook" at the top of this information box to create an account with a Facebook username and password. The Facebook account will be linked to Instagram.

   Click the "Sign Up" button located at the bottom of the registration menu. A new account will be created.

   Click the person icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Your profile page will open.

   Click the "Edit Profile" option located to the right of the Instagram name at the top of the page.

Method 3 of 3: Customizing your Instagram profile

1. 

   Click the "Edit Profile" button on the profile page. To personalize your Instagram account, it's a good idea to customize your account information.
   • You can also add information initially when setting up your account on a mobile device.

   Click "Add Profile Photo". If you already have an avatar, this option will be "Change Profile Photo". There are different options to upload avatars like:
   • Import from Facebook - Select photo from Facebook multimedia. Facebook and Instagram accounts will be linked together.
   • Import from Twitter - Select photo from Twitter multimedia. The Twitter account will be linked to Instagram.
   • Take Photo - Take a photo to use for your profile.
   • Choose from Library - Select a photo from the camera roll.

3. 

   Upload avatar from selected source. A clear picture or face will show up on your Instagram profile, which makes your account easier to recognize than without a profile picture.
   • This is also a good place for a logo if you use this Instagram for your brand or business.

   Click in the "Name" field to add a name. This field is typically used to enter a full name, but Instagram allows the user to use a unique name (for example, a first or last name).
   • If this account is used for work, consider entering your business name here instead of your name.

   Click on the "Username" field to add a custom username. This is the name that will be visible to others on Instagram. For maximum hit performance, you can try giving usernames relative to this Instagram dominant content.
   • If you enter a username that is already in use, Instagram will ask you to choose a different name.

   Click on the "Website" field to add the website URL. If you have your own website (for example, for personal, photography or business content), enter the URL link in the corresponding field to display below your profile information when other users visit this Instagram. This is a great way to promote your work or life outside of Instagram without costly advertising.

   Click on the "Bio" field to add your account profile. You can enter information regarding the content or purpose of the Instagram page; for example, if this is primarily a composition of nature photos, mention this in the profile frame.
   • You can also put the relevant hashtag in the Bio field, which makes the account easier to find when other users search for similar content.

8. 

   Review personal information. These categories are at the bottom of the page and only you see because this is the content related to the registration of your Instagram account. Here, you can change the following:
   • Registered email address.
   • Phone number registered.
   • Sex.

Advice

• Choose a username that you don't mind when people know it; If luck is famous, you probably do not want this account associated with something weird or boring.

• Like any other online service, never give out your password to untrusted people.
• Note: pictures on Instagram profile must be taken by you, or attached with appropriate source if it is someone else's photo.
