Here's an article that shows you how to find and follow other users on Instagram. You can do this by using Instagram's search function, following users in the list of suggestions, and following friends from Facebook or phone contacts.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Use the search bar

1.

   • If you are logged into multiple Instagram accounts, the profile page icon will display the avatar of the currently logged in account.

   Find the account you want to follow. Swipe through suggested accounts until you find someone you want to follow.

   Tap on certain accounts. This will open the profile of the selected account.
   • If it's a private account, you'll only see their profile picture and description.

Method 3 of 4: Follow users from your Facebook friends list

1. 

   Touch the card Facebook. This is the tab that appears in the middle of the Discover People page header.

   Touch Connect to Facebook (Link to Facebook). You will see this green button in the center of the screen.
   • If you've already connected Facebook to Instagram, skip to the "Find the account you want to follow" step.

   Choose your login form. You can touch Log in with the Facebook app (Login with Facebook app) or Log in with phone or email (Login by phone number or email).
   • If you're logged into Facebook on your mobile device, you'll see Continue as (Continue with) shown here.

   Login Facebook. Skip this step if you see it Continue as . The action here will vary depending on the login form selected:
   • Sign in with the Facebook app - Touch Open (Open) when asked. First you will have to enter Facebook email address and password.
   • Sign in with phone number or email - Enter your phone number or email address in the "Email or Phone" field, then enter your password in the "Facebook Password" field and tap Log In (Log in).

   Touch Continue as . It's a blue button near the bottom of the screen. With this, you give Facebook access to Instagram.
   • For example, if your name is Martha, you will touch Continue as Martha (Continued with Martha) here.

   Wait for the list of Facebook friends to show up. This process will take a few seconds depending on the number of friends in your list.

   Find the account you want to follow. Swipe through your friends list until you find someone you want to follow.
   • You can also touch Follow All (Full Tracking) at the top of the page to follow all your friends on the list.

Method 4 of 4: Track users from phone contacts

1.

   Touch Connect Contacts (Directory link). It's a blue button in the middle of the page.
   • If you've given Instagram access to your contacts, skip to the "Find the account you want to follow" step.

   Choose Allow Access (Allow Access) on either iPhone Get Started (Getting Started) on Android. You will do this when asked. Thus, all of your phone book contacts are added to the card Contacts.
   • You may need to confirm Instagram permission to access your location by touching Yes or OK when asked.

   Find the account you want to follow. Swipe through your friends list until you find someone you want to follow.
   • You can also touch Follow All (Full Tracking) at the top of the page to follow all accounts showing up here.

• Choose private if your Instagram account has information you don't want publicly available.
