Method 1 of 5: Identify the problem

1. 

   Identify dead or stuck pixels. Stuck pixels always show color. Dead pixels are only white (for TN panels) or black. Try to determine if it's a dead pixel or is just temporarily stuck.

   Send monitor to manufacturer (optional). If the pixel is dead, you should pay the warranty fee and send the screen to the manufacturer.

Method 2 of 5: Force method

1. 

   
   
   Turn on the computer and LCD screen.

2. 

   Open a black image so that stuck pixel is clearly visible in contrast background. You must open the image in black, not the blank signal, because you need the LCD backlight to illuminate the back of the panel.

   Find an item with a blunt, narrow tip. You can use a marker with a cap, a blunt pencil, a plastic pen or a makeup brush tip.
   • Before proceeding, read the warning section at the end of the article. Rubbing against the screen can make things worse.

   Use the round end of the object to lightly press the stuck pixel. Don't press too hard, just press just enough to see the white dot flash at the contact point. If you don't see a white dot, you haven't pressed hard enough. Press a little more hard.

5. 

   Press harder. Apply stronger force and press 5-10 times consecutively until the pixel returns to normal.

6. 

   Force effect. If pressing the pixel doesn't work, grab a damp (not too wet) cloth or a wet paper, and fold it back so that it doesn't accidentally tear it. Keep the object in contact with the stuck pixel and press gently, continue to use the previous item to push the stuck pixel.

   Check the result. Open a white image (for example a blank document or open about: blank in a web browser and press F11 to open full screen mode) to determine if you have accidentally affected your screen instead of fixing a stuck pixel. are not. Method 3 of 5: Thermal method

1. 

   Turn on the computer and LCD screen.

2. 

   Soak the towel in hot water as possible. If possible, boil the water until air bubbles appear at the bottom of the pan. Place the towel in the sieve and pour hot water over the towel.

3. 

   Wear heat resistant gloves or gloves. You don't want to burn your hands in the next step.

4. 

   Place the hot towel in the sandwich bag. Remember to close the bag tightly.

5. 

   Place the plastic hot towel bag on the stuck pixel. Put a plastic bag on the screen but avoid contacting the ramp, because if the line bursts, hot water will damage the computer. Try to focus the heat on stuck pixels.

6. 

   Slowly "massage" pixels in circles. Move the bag around the pixel in the same way as a massaging motion. The heat makes it easy for liquid crystal to flow into the unfilled area. advertisement

Method 4 of 5: Software method

1. 

   Try pixel editing software (See Sources and Citation). You can re-enable stuck-pixel with quick on and off. There are many screen repair programs you can download online for free. advertisement

Method 5 of 5: Hardware method

1. 

   Try PixelTuneup (see Sources and Citation). These devices produce a tuned video signal that eliminates stuck pixels and improves image quality, color and contrast. You can do this on LCD, LED, plasma or CRT TVs.

2. 

   Turn off the screen.

3. 

   Plug in and start PixelTuneup, then turn on the display.

4. 

   Wait 20 minutes.

5. 

   Turn off and unplug PixelTuneup.

6.

Advice

• If the methods above do not work, try to contact the manufacturer and change to another monitor. If it is imperative to replace a technical part, contact the manufacturer for specific discussions.

Warning

• Many people believe that touching the screen will cause many pixels to be stuck, but this has not been proven.
• Don't try to open the screen. Doing this will void your warranty and the manufacturer will not replace the screen for you.
• Be careful with websites where you download screen repair software. Many sites with viruses are worse than stuck pixels.
• Do not get the electrical equipment wet to avoid damage.
• The LCD screen has many layers. Each layer is separated by a small glass gasket. These separate gaskets and layers are fine. Pressing the LCD panel with your finger or a towel can break the pad and make things worse. Most technicians do not fix stuck pixels with force method so take all risks when you do it this way.
• Manufacturer's warranty for LCDs includes panel replacement if the display shows a certain abnormal pixel count. However, warranty does not cover damage caused by screen scratches or strong contact. Contact the manufacturer to see if the device can be replaced or repaired.
