This article guides you how to edit TikTok profile at will when using Android, iPhone or iPad. TikTok allows you to edit your profile in many ways such as adding your display name, user photo, 6-second profile video and links to other social networks.

Steps

1. 

   (I). This human-shaped icon is in the lower-right corner of the screen.

   Touch Edit profile (Edit profile). This is a large red button located in the center of the screen.

   Add a profile photo. Here is your profile picture when using TikTok. To choose or take a new photo, you need:
   • Touch Profile Photo (Change Photo) above.
   • Touch Take a Photo (Take photo) to use the camera and take a new photo, or tap Select from Photos / Camera Roll (Choose from gallery) to choose one of the photos on the phone or tablet.
   • Give TikTok permission to access your photos and / or camera if you haven't already.
   • Follow the instructions on the screen to crop and save the photo.

   Add a profile video instead of a photo (optional). If you feel that the stills are not enough to express your personality on TikTok, you can create a 6-second profile video. When a TikTok user likes your profile video, they may follow you up for a new video. Here's how to create the video:
   • Touch Profile Video (Click to create a new video) at the bottom of the page.
   • Give TikTok permission to access photos if you haven't already.
   • Video selection on phone or tablet.
   • Drag the sliders on either side to choose from 6 seconds of video.
   • Touch Done (Finished) to save the new video.

   Touch Name to edit the name. Your display name is the first line at the top of the page. After adding a new name, you need to touch the word Save (Save) in the top-right corner of the page.

   Tap on TikTok ID to change it. The TikTok ID is on the second line near the human figure. You can change this name every 30 days. You need to touch Save (Save) in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
   • If the username you entered has already been taken by someone else, you will be asked to choose a different name.

   Attention: If the Username or ID field is greyed out or you cannot select it, you have recently changed the username.

   Edit bio (bio). You need to tap the current profile, or touch No bio yet (Add your profile to your profile) if you haven't created it yet, then write your profile. Then touch on the word Save (Save) in the upper right corner of the screen when finished writing.
   • Try writing profiles that attract new friends and followers, but avoid over-writing and / or promoting other websites.

   Touch Instagram to link your Instagram account. Tap on this option, and you'll log into Instagram and grant TikTok account access. Once the accounts are linked, your Instagram username will be added to your TikTok profile.

   Touch YouTube to link to the YouTube channel. If you have a YouTube channel, follow the onscreen instructions to sign in and link your YouTube account with TikTok. The link to your YouTube channel will be added to your TikTok profile.

    Touch Twitter to link your Twitter account. If you have Twitter, you can link Twitter with the TikTok app. Note that you need an Asian version of TikTok to do this. Please enter your Twitter information and login to link accounts.
    • To get the Asian version while in the US, you can access this link on Android. You will have to roam the Apple ID to download it to iOS.

    Touch Save (Save). This button is in the upper right corner of the screen. This is the step in saving your changes to your profile.
