This wikiHow teaches you how to hide your phone number from public view on Facebook. This process is different from deleting all phone numbers.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Using the Facebook app

1. 

   Open the Facebook app. It has a white "F" shape on a blue background. If you are logged in, the News Feed will open.
   • If you aren't logged into Facebook, enter your email address (or phone number) and tap Log In (Log in).

   Click the image button ☰ in the bottom-right corner (iPhone) or in the top-right corner of the screen (Android).

   Click on your name. Your name will show up at the top of the menu. After clicking, your profile page will appear.

   Scroll down and tap About (Introduce). This title is underneath the information displayed below your avatar.

   Click Contact Info (Contact information). This option is below the list of profile information at the top of the page. The "Mobile Phone" category will be listed below.

   Scroll down and tap the option Edit (Edit) next to the "Contact Info" header. The location of this option will vary depending on what information you have on your Facebook page, but it is generally above the "Basic Info" box.

   Click the box to the right of the phone number. The phone number will be at the top of the page, just below the "Mobile Phones" heading.

   Click Only me (Only me). This option is near the bottom of the pop-up menu here. After selecting the mode Only me, you can continue to use Facebook Messenger and the phone number will be hidden.
   • You may need to click More Options ... (Other option) to see the mode Only me.

Method 2 of 2: By Facebook website

1. 

   Open the website Facebook. If you are logged into Facebook, the News Feed page will open.
   • If you aren't logged into Facebook, enter your email address (or phone number) in the upper right corner of the screen and then click Log In.

   Click your name in the top right of the Facebook page.

   Click the item About is below the cover photo.

   Hover your mouse pointer over the phone number. This option is in the upper right of the "About" page.

   Click Edit your contact and basic info (Edit your basic information and contacts). This option will appear when you hover your mouse pointer over the phone number.

   Click on the link Edit to the right of the phone number. Knot Edit This will not appear until you hover your mouse pointer over the "Mobile Phones" box.

7. 

   Click the padlock icon directly below the phone number.

8. 

   Click Only me. This option is in the drop-down menu that appears. This will keep your phone number on your profile so you can continue using Facebook Messenger, but only you can see.
   • You may need to click ▼ More Options at the bottom of the previous drop-down menu to see the option Only me.

• You should regularly check to see if these settings have been changed from before.
