Amazon gift cards are a popular gift for Christmas, birthdays and graduation. After loading your gift card into your account, you will be curious about the balance of the card. Amazon accounts have the option to check balances from gift cards. Amazon also allows you to check your gift card balance without having to redeem your card. This is useful if you have been given a card but don't know how much it is worth.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Check the gift card balance of the account

1. 

   Visit Amazon.com. Open a web browser (for example, Google Chrome or Firefox) on your computer, smartphone, laptop, etc. Click the address bar at the top of the browser window. Type “Amazon.com” in the address bar and press Enter.

   Sign in with your Amazon account. On the top right of the website is the word "Hello, Sign In" (Hello, login). Click here to go to the login page. Then enter your email address or username and password. If you don't have an account, you'll need to click on the “Create your Amazon account” button.
   • To create a new Amazon account, we need to enter an email address. If you do not have an email account, please create a new one.

   Go to the “Your Account” section. The account page will be automatically forwarded immediately after logging in, otherwise you need to manually access it. Hover your mouse pointer over the “Accounts & Lists” button in the navigation bar. Look in the left column and click on the word "Your Account".

   Find the Gift Card option group in the “Amazon Wallet” section. Scroll a bit down to the second section on the page titled “Amazon Wallet”. There are two columns in this section, including "Payment Methods" and "Gift Cards".

   Click “View Gift Card Balance and Activity”. Under the Gift Cards heading, the first option allows you to see the balance of a gift card. This line will be blue. Click there to go to the gift card balance page.

   View balance. After you click “View Gift Card Balance and Activity”, the gift card balance page opens. On the screen, the balance of the gift card will show green text in the frame. If you have loaded multiple cards into your account, this is the total value of the cards. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Check the balance of the gift card has not been redeemed

1. 

   Sign in with your Amazon account. Open any browser you want to use and go to Amazon.com. Click the "Sign-in" button near the top right of the screen. On the next page that appears, enter your email address and password to log into your Amazon account.

   Click on “Gift Cards and Registry”. At the top of the screen is the search bar, below the search bar there is the option to link to other parts of the web page. Click on the line "Gift Cards and Registry". You will be redirected to a screen with various options.

   Click on the “Redeem a gift card” box. On the screen are three squares in a row. Below this optional row is a six-cell range. The second box next to the last option to the right should say “Redeem a gift card”. Click this link.

   Rake up the silver paint on the back of the card. On the brand new Amazon card, there will be a series of silver paint covering the recharge code located on the back. You can use a coin or nail to scrape off the silver paint and see the code.

   Enter the card recharge code. See the long sequence of letters and numbers that appear on the back of the card after you scrape off the silver paint. Proceed to enter this code correctly, including capital letters and hyphens.

   Click the “Check” box. After you enter your recharge code, there are two options: checking your balance or applying a value to your account. If you want to load your card balance into your account, select the corresponding item, If not, click the "Check" button to check the amount in the card. advertisement
