  10. Click Browse ... (Browse) in the upper-right corner of the window. A window will appear allowing you to choose a folder to save the DVD file and rename the file.

  11. Name the file. Enter a name for the DVD file in the "Save As" field, then enter an extension .mp4.
    • For example, to save the DVD file with the name "Batman" you would import Batman.mp4.

  12. Select a save folder. Click the "Where" drop-down box, then click a folder (for example Desktop) in the currently displayed menu.

    • Choose MP3 in the selection list.
    • Click the "Bitrate" box and choose 128.
    • Click on the "Channels" box and select 2.
  18. Click OK, then click OK on the main window. This is the action that requires VLC to copy the DVD file into the selected save folder.
    • This can take around 15-40 minutes for each 30-minute video.
  19. Play the converted file. After copying the video is complete, the converted file will be displayed in the selected save folder. You can double-click the file to view it using the Mac's default video player.
    • If VLC does not copy the entire DVD, or the copied content loses sound or has technical problems, you need to check if the latest VLC version is up to date and try again. If you still cannot copy the DVD, it is probably the type of disc with the copy protection feature set. In this case, you will have to purchase DVD decoding software to copy the content on the disc.
